Unofficially, I think Jeff discovered this was normally just loss of lifeline association, which "Configure" in some of my drivers will fix (not sure if this is one off the top of my head).

Set Lifeline Association - Useful after a firmware update if the device is no longer reporting back to the hub, try sending this command which might fix it without having to re-pair.

I think you already got it sorted, but for anyone else with the same issue.

Although I have not run into that issue since the days of the ZEN2x switches. All the modern devices seem to not have this problem.
