That's why I was asking . If you look at the instructions for the remote (which I did) it seemed to include pairing with devices . But thank you for clarifying the zwave vs zigbee confusion.
I'm really interested in RGB Genie and came apon this driver.
My question is, with this driver can a 3 scene or 3 zone touch panel control (via association) my existing zooz RGBW controller... without having to hook up RGB Genie's ZW-1002?
I have the ZW controller/driver combo connected to CCT tuneable white LEDs. Everything works fine... except that the Set Colour Temperature commands are bass-ackwards. Asking for 2200k results in daylight, and vice versa. What have I done wrong?
Well, four months later I've decided I should try and fix this.
Changing colour temp in the driver results in this in the logs:
dev:5062023-06-14 08:05:47.545 AMerrorgroovy.lang.MissingMethodException: No signature of method: user_driver_rgbgenie_RGBGenie_LED_Controller_ZW_735.setColorTemperature() is applicable for argument types: (java.math.BigDecimal, java.math.BigDecimal) values: [5500, 100]
Possible solutions: setColorTemperature(java.lang.Object) (method setColorTemperature)
If I hit the "test CW" or "test WW" the LEDs change colour as expected.
So I figured I check for updates to the driver, but when I try to import the latest github code, I get this error
I don't think Bryan maintains these drivers since he got hired by Hubitat. Not sure the reasoning exactly, but he has stated as much on other drivers he wrote. So he probably won't offer much help here.
I had this on my hub, so I deleted the driver and tried importing it again. It worked just fine.
Are you trying to copy/paste the URL and import, or copy/pasting the code itself? It almost seems like you are not getting the whole code if you are attempting to copy and past that instead of the URL.
Beyond that, I have no idea what that error means.
Hi it’s me again. I have successfully added Rgb genie zw1002 and a wall controller. And the respective drivers. But I can’t control or even add a child to the wall controls. Am I missing something? Thank you
I have 3 - RGB Genie Z-Wave LED controllers (model ZV-1008) that are working in Google Home via Hubitat. Have been working for a couple of years now. They were installed on a C-7 and were migrated over to a C-8 without any problems.
weird, so this is been an on going issue for me. I think worked a for a little bit with a C7 then stopped and I gave it. I recently moved to a new house and started fresh with everything on a C8 and still not working. Here is the strange; it worked after the initial setup and then just stopped.
Does the device show up on the list of devices under the Google Home app?
What about the live logs...any error messages when you try to control the device from Google Home?
What about the events logs for the actual device....For instance here is a screenshot of the events page for my study light when I tell Google to turn it on...
EDIT: another thought ...once you confirm that the device shows up on the list of devices under the Google Home app, go ahead and click done on the Google Home app to reinitialize the app.
After this process I verify that this devices it not showing up in Google Home and then when I go back into Hubitat that device is deselected in the Google Home Hubitat app.
This turns out it seems Google Home doesn't like the custom driver... I was having the same issue with a Zooz RGBW controller and their custom driver. As soon as I changed the RGB Genie device as well as the Zooz to the Generic RGBWW controller driver, they work in Google Home without any issues.
Yes, I was having issues with @bcopeland's RGBGenie LED driver. It did not appear to be reporting the correct state (on/off). I changed to the Generic Z-Wave Plus dimmer and can control on/off and the levels just fine. If I need to change the color, which I don't have to do often, I just change back to the RGBGenie driver and make the changes. I would use the Generic RGBW driver but I like to be able to adjust color temperature and I don't believe that driver can do this.
Sorry, I didn't realize the issue you were having with Google Home was because of the driver.
