[Release] Magic Home Wifi (Drivers) + MagicHome Manager (App)

Shouldn’t need to upgrade. I’d be curious to get more info. Still working on the RGBW bulb driver

Hello, thanks for your driver! I have just bought a rgb ws2811 strip with a WiFi magic home controller. Do you think there would be any support for this going forward? I am happy to be a beta tester if you like? Currently I can use the magic home driver to switch on and off the strip as well as change the colour but not any of the addressable patterns.

I am trying to get my MagicHome driver running properly but i am having issues. I can turn it on and off but no other control seems to work. I have tried to change colors on the LED strip but it get this error message in the log

[dev:6](2021-01-05 09:25:43.072 pm errorjava.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke method multiply() on null object on line 231 (setColor)

I can see the change within Hubitat and Alexa but no change in the LED strip or magichome app.

I have an RGB IR controller, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a headache as I have been trying to solve this all day. Im sure its something stupid

I screwed up and bought a wifi led strip light that uses the Techlife Pro App. It doesn’t seem to work with the Magic Home device driver. Is there some way to make it work without buying a new wifi module.

Unfortunately, no :frowning: You may be able to flash them with Tasmota or something, but I can't say for sure.

Thanks. I guess I should be more careful.

Hi, I am looking at buying the MagicHue led strip and wondering if this driver supports the strip?

Sure does! I have a few of that model around my house.

Funny the topic turned to the LED strip as that's exactly what I have. I've located it on my guest wifi network, entered the IP into the device settings. Logs are showing me this:

Are your lights and hub on the same network? Looks like it’s having a hard time finding the lights. Might be worth double checking your device IP and port, and re-saving it too.

They're on the same network, router, etc. The lights run on my guest wifi SSID but it's the same network. My Alexa devices can control it like crazy.

Using the iOS MagicLight WF app I confirmed the IP. Doesn't afford me the ability to confirm the port but I cannot see why it would be anything but the default. Alexa controls it fine, it's about 30 IPs up the ol' subnet from cameras, etc.

Sure, just wanted to check if there wasn’t something going on cross-network with firewall rules or something. The Alexa integration uses cloud control, so it would bypass those rules.

I dug around in the router as, when I thought into this more, I recall having the WiFi guest network set to "Internet only". I was right, this was the case. Removed that setting, still no love for the MagicLights.

I restored the setting as security is more important to me. I'll look back at this in the future after I reignite the fight to get the lights to pair with my main 2.4 WiFi (it was a real battle as my routed doesn't allow for shutting down the 5 WiFi anywhere I can find.)

Thanks!
