This sounds like a scene from the British series "Danger UXB!", starring Anthony Andrews. (They defused unexploded bombs dropped by the Germans in WWII, and many were deliberately unexploded, and equipped with booby-traps for the bomb-defusers. )
I put a Tradfri E14 806 lm bulb (LED2111G6) in one of these cables and it behaves exactly like you want: I can toggle the on/off state in Hubitat with very short power-cuts using the cable inline switch (don't know about milliseconds - as fast as I could manually switch it off, then on again )
Looks promising.
Thanks for the very detailed description. With this I got it to work.
Nice, since I have a bunch of these old remotes from the older days.
@danabw Thanks again for your great work with these drivers.
LOL - not me! . You mean @dandanache, and I agree!
Oh man you are totally right. Too less coffee in the morning.
Perhaps add a configurable "preference" for the feature?
Hey @dandanache, got an oddity here. I have three of these Badring E2202 sensors, all running the 1.0.7 firmware, all purchased at the same time. Two of them pair just fine and dandy. One refuses to complete the IAS enrolment. I see in the log it says "IAS not completed" or something along those lines, then it sits there, paired, but never reporting anything - no battery data and no alarm status.
I wasn't particularly careful about pairing any of them, but this third one I've tried many times... close the the hub for ages, in the same room for ages, reset and re-paired, completely removed, reset and re-paired. Nothing worked. So I tried pairing to Zigbee2MQTT. Flippin' thing paired properly first time and worked perfectly.
So, today I removed it from Z2M and tried pairing again with Hubitat... same problem!
Why does it mock me?!
Sorry to hear that
My steps to troublehoot situations like this:
- Use another battery, maybe this one is almost dead.
- You reset the device with 4 clicks in 5 seconds, not long-press the pairing button (Zigbee Light Link mode), right
?
- I would then try to reset the hubs Zigbee board: shutdown the hub from the settings page, wait for the red LED, remove USB power for 1 minute, wait till hub starts up, retry to pair.
- Use the Advanced Zigbee pairing option from the Zigbee Map app to really, really make sure that the Badring pairs thru the hub; don't need to be close to the hub in this case.
Hope this helps.
Sorted it!
Changed the battery, tried again, no luck. Tried again with Advanced Zigbee Pairing, still no luck. Removed the battery, then reinserted the battery... LED glowed red and went out, and IAS immediately changed to "enrolled" and the device is now operating perfectly.
Weird. Thanks for your help!
Hi Dan,
Apologies if I'm messing up my first post!
I'm still getting to grips with my first HE (C8-Pro). I've installed your Ikea Zigbee Drivers package through HPM and the Vindstyrka driver. It's working well - thank you! Perhaps I'm missing something but is there a way to reduce the level of data reporting somewhere in the driver? I have no programming skills so instructions would have to be quite specific. Right now it appears to be quite chatty, logging parameters every minute, when every 5 or 10 minutes would be sufficient.
Any guidance would be most appreciated! Thanks again.
Hi all,1st time using the forums and relatively new to hubitat so apologies if this is a simple question.
I keep getting this error when I try updating the ikea package.
What have I done wrong/what do I need to do to rectify?
You are right, it is chatty. From all IKEA devices, I like Vindstyrka's Zigbee implementation the least. Hope they fix it with a firmware upgrade.
I will add a setting to configure the chatter in a future release as this also bugs me (I have logging level set to "warning" for this device, but this does not reduce the network traffic).
Right now the minimum reporting interval is set to 15 seconds (0x000F in hexadecimal = 15 in decimal ). This does not mean that the device is reporting every 15 seconds; it will not report value changes more frequently than every 15 seconds (if the value changed).
You can adjust this minimum reporting interval in the driver code here:
To report at most once every 1 minute, you need to change 15 to 60 (0x003C in hexadecimal). I use this site to do the base conversions.
After you edit and save the driver code, you need to run the "Configure" command in the device details page, to commit the setting to the device.
Welcome to the rabbit hole no need to apologize.
Is there something more helpful in Live Logs when this happens?
Does this info help not sure how to get further info. If you point me in the correct direction I'll try and see if I can get something more. Am just working(fumbling) my way around this all
That was not very helpful. Other things to try:
-
Make sure you're using the latest version of HPM (1.9.3)
-
Try to repair the IKEA Zigbee Drivers package (HPM -> Repair).
Can you also post a screenshot with the drivers list from the Drivers Code page, from the left menu?
Dan, Thank you so much for the rapid response!
At my experience level, your step by step instructions were perfect - particularly including the link for base conversions! Both of my Vindstyrka are now showing data once every 5 minutes in the log and providing much needed repeater functionallity.
I don't have a strong grasp on how much this level of chatter matters to the HE Hub and it's overall responsiveness. Though, I'm sure many would appreciate the abilty to tweak such variables within the driver interface if you do find the time to update the driver.
Thanks again!
Anyone have success pairing the Tradfri remote (E1766) with more than two shades?
I have a mix of Praktlysing and Tredansen shades directly paired to HE and can be controlled with no problem via the app or Google Home.
I cannot get the Tradfri remote to control more than two shades at a time, although according to Ikea I should be able to pair 10 shades.
The firmware on the remote is updated to 24.4.6, and in the device logs I can see the driver binding the shades but the remote will not control more than the two it is already controlling.
If I can't control more than two shades with this remote through HE, then the remote is useless for my family use case. Yes we can do all control through the apps, but sometimes just hitting the physical button on the nearest control is simpler for the family than going through the app.
Nevermind, I just figured it out. I had to unpair the remote and repair it. I think the issue was caused by the remote being originally paired with the old firmware.
Apologies for delay. So i updated HPM to 1.9.3,
and tried running a repair of the package as well as the update but still got no joy.
I've attached the drivers list.
@dandanache , thanks much for this lifesaving driver set. I have one problem with the tretakt socket (2204, UK) with C-8 Pro. It finds the device, on/off works once, then no response to any control. I'd appreciate your help. if I remove the device and adding back again, it works once again then nothing. Any help appreciated.
- endpointId: 01
- application: 02
- hwVersion: 01
- manufacturer: IKEA of Sweden
- model: TRETAKT Smart plug
- softwareBuild: 2.4.4
- type: E2240
tried to pair with excluding zigbee 3.0 repeaters , but same problem. finds the device, on off works once, then looks dead.
