[RELEASE] Hub Rebooter App

I installed Rebooter using HPM and then created a virtual button and added it to one of my dashboards. That seems to work. We travel a lot with our RV and are away from the hub for extended periods of time, so I cannot see the hub (LED). In a perfect world I would like my dashboard button to reflect the status of the hub, so I can see if it is blue or green. Any ideas on how I would go about doing that, if possible?

Camera?

Thanks for the suggestion. That would work but would rather not want to dedicate a camera to this if there is a method within Hubitat to solve. I guess a pan/tilt would allow me to multi-task that camera.

Seems like it would have to be "out of band", wouldn't it?

Suggested Improvements:

  1. It would be great to have a way to install a new version of the Hubitat software. I suggest using a virtual switch as a trigger for a full reboot that includes installing the update. It would be great to include turning off the switch. so it wouldn't run again.
This option would let the user decide when to install the updates and have it run overnight.
  2. An option to restart the Hubitat process after a selected number of days. This would be great if there were an option to use a reboot to reset the the day counter.
This option would be so much better than a fixed schedule,

Thank you so much for this. I have had tons of issues with my hub. the only thing i use it for at the moment is a single sensor to notify me if my mailbox has been opened. it works for a day maybe 2 and then stops. i am always having to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work. hoping this will address that issue. i just dont have the time to get on the forums to search for help on the root cause. thanks again.

Hi @awcorri,

Which kind of sensor are you using? Zigbee, Wi-Fi, ZWave?

How far is it from the hub?

Is there a way to build a rule that sends me a push notification when this runs?

Side note, this is exactly the app I needed. Thanks!
