Bump on this. Is this a known issue or something unique to my situation?
I can't speak to exactly how it's matter capability comes into play as I am not (yet?) a matter household. That said, it can be controlled via API and MQTT. I have been doing that using node-red putting another system between hubitat and the hub. I understand there is a user app to control the cloud version in hubitat and it sounded like there was some effort made to update it to support local access. It seemed very doable since the changes are primarily about how to get authorization tokens and the address providing the API end point.
Unfortunately, that is all I can say since my work with it has all been using node-red for interactions.
I didn’t realize that the local hub also had an mqtt broker and API. That makes it more interesting. But it has been perpetually sold out so not sure what’s going on there.
I like mine. Good luck on the sold out front. I know there was a lot of initial demand, but I have no feel for if the manufactured 100, 1000, 10000, 100000 or 1,000,000 units.
