[RELEASE] Beta 1 - version of Honeywell Home Thermostats (Lyric etc...)

@coherman I think I understand what is going on now. The Honeywell Developer API login is totally separate from the Honeywell Home App - 2 separate logins. You need to use the Honeywell Home login credentials to authorize the Hubitat App to access your thermostat. The only time you would use the Developer API login is if you want to set up a new Consumer Key and Consumer Secret for the Hubitat Honeywell Home App. Those items are in the App under the "Login Options" section. I know, pretty confusing.

Thanks for you comments and clarification. Somehow the login to the Honeywell Home App is working again. It must have been a glitch on the Honeywell server side, since I noticed an issue with the Honeywell Thermostat app on my smartphone. Everything seems to be working ok (for at least the moment!).

Thanks.

I've been getting more frequent errors. Same type of stuff as before just more often. Majority of the time, however, it seems to work ok afterwards.

It's like the errors are false. Very odd. Frustrating too, honestly since about a third of the time I have to go in and reauthorize.

I still suspect this is something on Honeywell side. Nonetheless, I wanted to share it incase there is some tweaking that can be done.

Same issue here . Every week or i need to reauthirize

The errors are quite real and I get then as well. I also believe that the issue is on Honeywell's side.

The way that this works is that the driver requests a token from the server. That token is only good for a certain number of minutes and it is used to to do things like change settings or get values (temperature, for example). The driver is responsible for refreshing the token before it expires by requesting a new token.

What is happening when you see these errors is that the driver is using a token that should still be good to make a request and the Honeywell server is rejecting the token as expired. When the driver gets this expired error, it will get a new token and retry whatever it was trying to do.

The fact that these errors happen randomly makes me think that it is the Honeywell servers at fault. Some days I have no errors and some days I have a lot of errors. Occasionally I also lose authorization and have to go through reauthorizing. There is no way that I know of to automatically reauthorize - it is a manual process that requires you to log into the Honeywell site. So working around these seemingly flakey Honeywell servers doesn't seem to be possible. Very frustrating.

I've given up on Honeywell, their service is just a PITA lately - I've gone back to my Sensibo instead.

@dJOS I'm almost there as well.

I'm still hanging on because of the hardware. I love that the whole screen on the T9 goes orange or blue and you can easily read it from across the room. I just wish they played more solidly with their API.

I really liked my D6 pro with the screen etc too. :frowning:

Yeah, I hate to give up on the Honeywell stuff. I really like the hardware, too. The remote sensors seem to work well (I have 3 connected) and I like the screens and the universal base system. I'm going to email their developer support tomorrow to complain about their sh*t servers. Obviously I won't be so insulting when I email.

It also seems odd that they would have all these issues and yet when I pull up the mobile app it's a flip of a coin that it says something about maintenance.

Just another reason for local control only  I mean I quite like my Honeywell T6 Pro z-wave though when I contacted support about firmware updates they were useless. (Kept insisting that when connected to the internet that it would update automatically even when I repeated explained that's not how z-wave works)

I would have gone that route but the device itself looks so dated.

I somewhat get that but honestly I hardly ever touch it or look at it... For me it's purely function over form. Aesthetically I find it doesn't stand out and is not noticeable.... Much like the rest of my devices. Hell even my Unifi AP AC-Pro's blend in and you don't notice them until you're actually looking for them.

Unfortunately here in Australia there are no viable zwave options that actually work. The Remotec I have is a steaming pile of excrement and has been sitting in its box for several Tara now.

I went looking for a Zigbee option, but can’t find one. :persevere:

Sinope and they're gorgeous

Does this work work an IR based mini split system?

Ahh for that no, I thought you had regular AC. For my mini split in my attic I use a the zxt-600 and it's been flawless

My 600 does strange things to my Daikin mini split and has no config options to change the behaviours.

I use a pair of Zen Zigbee thermostats for the main HVAC systems.

Instead of using codes, have you thought about programming each function on the zxt-600 with the original remote? That would probably solve the weirdness
