Hi, I'm looking for battery operated puck lights to place in carved pumpkins for halloween. Ideally I'd want the color to be controllable/settable. I'm hoping these use simple AA or AAA batteries and I want to control these from Hubitat. Searching on Amazon didn't get me anything good - all the lights there seem to have their own remote.
I don't know of any battery powered Zigbee lights but you might be able to find a USB Zigbee device that you can run off of a battery pack. This one is a bit big but it gives you the idea.
Or maybe a USB Zigbee switch with a small light and battery. I don't know how long any solution like this would work on battery. You might have to recharge it daily witch probably defeats the purpose.
If you have a Bond Bridge, or any of the other devices that will take an RF signal and communicate it to Hubitat, you can get any battery powered device with an RF remote within the correct frequency.
You pair the remote to the Bond/etc, and then connect teh Bond to Hubitat and write the rules in Hubitat.
Thanks for all the replies. I ended up buying the recommended pucks and leaving them on. Replaced all the batteries twice over a 10 day period so they stayed bright.
The Tuya IR Remote seems like a good idea. Will give it a try next year! Presumably, I can also use this to control my fog machine too!
