Recommendation - Exterior Deadbolt w/800 Chip and LR

My current Schlage BEBE469's are probably the least dependable thing in my network and they matter the most. That's been true on every platform I've ever used.

Any recommendation for an 800 series lock that works well with Hubitat?

Kwikset makes one that works well with Hubitat (at least with ZWaveJS). Here's the link:

Note that there's also a slightly older non-LR version of the same lock.

Philips also makes a ZWaveLR deadbolt, but I have no experience with it.

THANKS!

Pretty sure this is 700 series. LR but not 800.

Range is not my issue right now as 2 of my four locks are in direct line of sight and less that 25 feet away from the hub.

and LR "may" solve it since it takes away network routing and eliminate a neighbors need to help a lock.

Locks are pricy so I'm holding out for 800 and LR.

Look it up at Z-Wave Alliance. The ZWave version is 7.20.2; from what I've read that version is not available for 700-series chips.

I happened to see these the other day when I was looking at their site. I don't have any, so not sure how well they work. But has a few good reviews. Philips 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range Door Lock DDL240X-15HZW - The Smartest House

Thanks. There is actually another thread I had posted on with no response about those. I think a few people have these and have managed to get them working w/ Hubitat.

It does look nice...I'm just hoping to have a few choices...but there really don't appear to be many currently. It's funny to me because you'd think locks maker (especially ones that use replaceable zwave modules like Yale) would be keeping up.

If I were not looking for 5 or them...which would probably be over $1000... I'm just not going to pull the trigger until I feel really good about the product. So...I just keep looking/asking. :upside_down_face:

The links posted say the product is

Lock Technology

Z-Wave700LR - Maybe there is a newer version and I'm missing it.

They haven't updated the model number. But I can confirm that the locks from Amazon are shipping with the EFR32ZG23 SOC and firmware 7.23. This is also confirmed by a post on the Home Assistant forum.

This is an 800 series lock.

You don’t have to replace all five at once, do you?

I want all to match in the end ...yes.

It makes support for anything easier. It's like my light switches...with about 35 new Homeseer dimmers ...and 20 older ones...even the "set LED" commands has differnt syntax in rules. It's a real pain.

Of course. But you could purchase one, confirm it works for your needs, then purchase the rest.

If it doesn’t meet your needs, return it.

True…Hubitat makes swapping devices easy. I do wish there was more to choose from…but lock makers aren’t exactly chasing the latest. I keep asking and very little changes

Have to be honest, I have 3 BE469zp's and they are incredibly reliable. Though I have a pretty robust z-wave network.

I've heard that from people too....and not for others. When building my network from the middle of a sphere out...and one of these locks was early on since it is around 20 feet away from the hub and in direct line of sight of the hub. It was flakey then too. Between platforms, I've probably built out the entire network a couple dozen times and mine have always been flakey. Maybe it's firmware versions.

These look nice but hubitat not listed so assume no driver or confidence yet lol. Nice feature set on them too!

Looks like a couple people got them working with the generic wave lock driver. Philips 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range Door Lock DDL240X-15HZW
