[RE-RELEASE] EcoWitt and Wittboy Weather Stations And Sensors (Local)

I use Dakboard as the screensaver as well (with it pointing to my Wunderground station for the weather data - Wish there was a way to point it to a local IP without paying for the app). I only use OWM for updating some rules that rely on forecast highs and lows.

The dahsboard I shared was just the one I use for displaying all my temps and radar (a button click on the bottom of the main dashboard for all my wall mounts)

If you're using Fully why not set that to point to your WU IP address rather than Dakboard for the screensaver?

Because I prefer the look of the dakboard interface as a screensaver (almost identical to yours, but with a black background).

Sorry, now I'm totally confused! If you only use the Dakboard as a screensaver as shown, why are you trying to access the WU IP address through Dakboard?

Was looking for it as a secondary link for fully(hoping it might have a better "tablet" format than the website itself). When I link to it from a direct link, it loads as a page that requires a bit of scrolling. The main Dakboard that I use as a screensaver is limited to just showing my outdoor temperature and requires cloud. Would not have minded one that I could show a few of my sensors with a LOCAL link. The Wunderground portion of the WSView app appears to have the information, and still works locally (or appears to).

I think my dashboard achieves what I wanted. (one page, landscape layout, with the sensors I want to see). But, it took a little bit of work.

Have you looked at using the iFrame driver to create a device you then display as a single tile on a dashboard?

You could probably adjust that to your tastes. (I need to set up a new WU account for my new location, so I'll get to that down the road.....

I know they moved their store, but I don’t know about their forum. That being said they keep that forum pretty locked down. No general discussion like here. Pretty much only questions and answers and I’ve had question posts take months to be approved and posted. I think it’s pretty much an afterthought for them.

The Facebook group is pretty good.

Yeah it is. I’m •technically• in it except I can’t access that account, can’t recover that account and I have tried several times to just create a new account but apparently I pissed Zuck off, Every time I try and create a new account it’s immediately suspended. So yeah. I’m not on facebook any more. Not a huge loss, just annoying.

A new day has dawned...a couple days ago, lol.

Nope, tried again just a couple days ago. Was still told I'm blocked and i have no path to appeal. Its not that important. Only reason i kept tryin was three hold out friend that keep pestering me. Can even try to back door throw Instagram or WhatsApp. I'm blocked on those as well.

I'm bowing out of further discussion here. Lol.

if you are using a water/temp sensor for hot tub or other monitoring..

i recommend

this model

vs

this one

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B24JVWMB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

which seems to fail every few months and even when working has widely crazy swing.. see graph for one vs other.

I'd really like this too! As my ecowitt temperature sensors (no leak detection) are all reporting leaks to HomeKit - which is causing HomeKit to freak out and report house leaks

Love this driver by the way! Thanks for all your work on it.

maybe we need a special driver for this case.. you could try commenting out capability water in the ecowitt driver and see if that fixes it.

I'm doing a little experiment where I'm attempting to block web access to the hub.

I blacklisted the hub from internet access on my router, and now I'm getting errors from the driver at a once-a-minute clip.

It seems that Ecowitt is attempting to access the web once a minute?

Why?

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks.

It’s checking for the latest available version of the driver in GitHub.

You can turn that off in the gateway settings in HE.

Thanks.

While on the subject of device preferences, what does "Compound Outdoor Sensors in a Virtual PWS Array" mean?
I have the weather station and two Temp/Hum sensors.
Does this setting imply combining more than one weather station?
The Temp/Hum sensors don't get factored in with this setting, do they?

Thanks.
