Question on strobe effect when at certain levels

So I have a rule where the rear hallway lights are 100% during the day and 20% at night.

This rule has worked for months and months.

Suddenly, when running the night rule, the lights then started to strobe or flicker on and off.

So I set the night time dim level to 50% which mostly solved the problem.

However I really want the dim level to be 20%.

Thinking that bulbs were failing I bought 2 new high quality bulbs. Different brand.

Same exact behavior.

Replaced a zooz zen72 with a brand new one to see if this helps.

So far setting dim level to 20% works, but setting to 100% it flickers badly.

Setting it to 95% seems to fix it

I would start with Zooz's troubleshooting steps for this exact problem:

Thanks, other than making sure the bulb is listed as dimmable, how to know whether it will work without flicker?

As the support article suggests, consider wiring in a bypass. 2 (LED) bulbs may be too light of a load at lower levels.

Did you read the article?

Make sure they are compatible with TRIAC or leading-edge dimmers specifically, as mentioned there. The bypass idea above is also in the article.

Looking at a bulb on Amazon I see it states dimmable, but I do not see whether it is triac or not.

What is weird is that it worked without flicker for a long time and then suddenly started really bad flickering

Sounds like a cheap bulb going bad to me.
