Older GE switches/dimmers that don't report manual activation

If you have an older GE Z-Wave dimmer or switch that does not report manual activation, there is a fix for this. The fix is a built-in app called Z-Wave Poller. You can read about it in our documentation.

To figure out if you have this problem, here are the keys:

  • The device paired as Generic Z-Wave Dimmer or Generic Z-Wave Switch.
  • When you turn it on manually with the switch, its state is not updated on the device page, and there is no Logs entry (be sure logging is on for the device).

If you have these symptoms, install Z-Wave Poller and follow the instructions in the documentation linked above.
