One thing I have done is turned to 3d printing shops to help in specific instances. For single light switches in my children's bedrooms, I just use one of these (Philips Hue 3d-printed SPACER to Mount Hue Dimmer Switch Smart Button Tap Dial Baseplate Over Decora or Toggle spacer V2/btn/td - Etsy) and mount a hue button over the top of the switch. The button toggles the hue bulbs in the overhead fixture, leaves the wiring alone, and is approved by the wife.

This is just par for version updates. Beta testing only goes so far. When the version is released, and people start updating, new bugs are revealed, so hot fixes are pushed out rather quickly. but after several releases, the system should stabilize and the updates should be far and few between.
