New Model C-7 Hub Coming Soon

Based on the FCC listing and pictures the C-7 doesn't have that. Maybe the C-8/9 someday? :man_shrugging:

That's too bad. They are going to need more than just a lonely Bobby for support with all the new users.

True - somebody please start a kickstarter to get poor @bobbyD some help - I haven't heard from him in months, I think he may be buried under a pile of support tickets from previous Wink users...

Lets find out... I have a C3 and a 700 series z-wave stick... rebooting it.

UZB7?

I imagine there'll be a platform update when the C-7 is released to include an interface to change z-wave radio frequency. It'll be interesting to see if that works with an external 700 series z-wave stick.

Just a little fun.

yes.

I would hope so.

Initial test device Zooz ZEN15 I had at my desk works just fine.

There's no "magic" to the 700 series chip and the api interface is all in place the same as with the previous USB interfaces. There's additions to the 700 series and some previous "optional" features are now mandatory but that only matters to Certified gateways.

The baseline features should and do all work as expected so far.

lol

I missed it, where did the C6 go?
Whatever it is I want one, now

Using the uzb-7 this way is no different than using the built in 500 series radio, it will not be using the new zwave stack, nor any of the features provided by it.

Yup. As I mentioned it's interface compatible but there's nothing magic about the stick by itself it's all about the software stack for interfacing with the newer features.

It's up to the gateway implementation of the z-wave software stack which determines the quality, stability and features/functionality not the usb stick or embedded chip/card.

There's a lot of features in z-wave that aren't exposed by lots of platforms and features that aren't implemented correctly and don't work right. The magic is in the software implementation not the usb stick.

It is interesting though how some do think the chip makes things special when it's really all in the software implementation and just because the USB stick is "Certified" that means nothing about the quality of the gateway and software and does not auto-magically make the gateway z-wave certified.

Is there a better place to buy ?

I'm sold.. did you ship my unit yet?

I'm going to have to wait for the C11 as a minimum to drive all the wacky stuff I have on my hub

I trust we can change that backlit logo colour scheme directly from RM right?
The red is indicating a current fault condition I assume

Question on the migration tool? Do you think it will be whole hub only or have the ability to move just devices and/or applications. I want to move my devices to the new hub but since some of my applications are "broken" (due to me removing devices and applications not handling it properly.

Thanks
Alan

Woot Woot!!! I hoped and hoped you guys were working on this.... LOVE IT!

Very happy to see a migration tool/service nearing release this is great news!

I wonder why there was no "preorder" done? Seems like that could have generated some cash and helped people who are switching platforms stick around a bit longer without getting desperate and trying some other platform...
