So I haven't checked in with Hubitat developments in a while and one day while going through an updating my rules, I noticed something called Matter now being compatible with HE. I gather that it's some kind of wireless home automation standard, and apparently HE detected four of them.
Trouble is, I have no idea what these are. I use an EERO Wi-Fi system and the app that I use to monitor it lists the devices but there is no easy way to see them listed by IP number.
Is there any way to figure out what these devices are before installing the integration? I just want to have some idea of what I'm doing before I jump in and possibly create a problem.
Please provide your hub model (C7, C8, etc.) and its platform version from Settings>Hub Details.

Not quite; Matter devices can be wired too, but it's indeed a (relatively) new protocol. This document explains more:
I don't think there's much more exposed about individual devices at that point (where they're simply discovered as existing on your network), but since you have Eero, you can probably log into the admin interface for your it (or whatever your DHCP server really is; I'm not familiar with Eero's capabilities specifically) and see if you recognize any devices at those IP addresses.
Of course, if you have everything added to your hub that you want to be added, even if these are Matter-capable, they can just be ignored with the link next to each.
So, I did some painful device-by-device IP reviewing, and I figured out that two of the four detected Matter devices are 2nd generation Echo Dots, and 2 of them might be our two Amazon Fire TVs, though I'm less certain of the latter.
From what I could tell, I have to use their respective apps to generate some kind of 11-digit code which I can enter in Hubitat to "add" the device.
I'm just not sure how to generate that code, since I did not find an option to do so in the Alexa app. I'm also not sure what it gets me for Hubitat to link to those devices... I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with that?
Yeah, those are probably ones I'd skip. Unless someone here has any idea, I don't think you'd gain anything by adding those to Hubitat directly, assuming it's even possible. (You can use them to commission other Matter devices you can add to the hub in the manner described, but I haven't seen anyone do it with the Echo itself.)
