I upgraded to c-8 a couple of years ago. Now need to use old c-7 in mesh. I can ping it but it won't boot. Blue light comes on, then off, then on, ad infinitum.
Is there any hope for it?
thank you

Are you using the original power supply or equivalent?
Edit: you say you can ping it? Try shutting it down and see if it still responds. If so, you have an IP conflict.
Excellent thought! I should have considered that. There is a conflict. Maybe i can wire it direct to a laptop and get it off the LAN.
Just press the one round hole with a pin on the bottom for several seconds. It will reset the networking, but nothing else.
I guess it's dead
1 - did reset, green light never shows
2 - connected direct to laptop and ran lan scan
3 - scan first showed 2 ip's, the laptop and one other with no ping, no mac addr, etc
4 - ran scan again. it showed 5 ip's: laptop and 4 more with no ping and no mac addr
My conclusion is that it's toast unless there is something else I could try.
Sounds like a different issue, but since it is a C-7, this may be relevant. ![]()
Step 1: Make sure there is no DHCP reservation for the C7
Step 2:Press the network reset button on the bottom of the hub for 7 or more seconds using a toothpic or paper clip (it will be the only round hole out of all the square ones)
Step 3: Regardless of the status of the light, using a network scanner like Angry IP scanner to scan your local network. It should find the ip.
Step 4: Using a web browser on your PC, go to http://yourhubipthatyoufound:8081 (NOT HTTPS) to get to the diagnostics menu.
Step 5: Do a full reset. If that doesn't work, do a roll back on the platform.
