My Z-wave is very sick. I can't nurse it back to health

A while back, there was a lot of work being done to spiff up S2 devices.

I thought there were some S2 protocol issues that @bcopeland worked on--which might make a difference vs. non-S2 (relating to ack'ing things, perhaps). It's been a while and I'm a bit fuzzy on it, tho.

Ironically I do that as well. I have a 220v solid state relay, that trips a "door sensor" with external contacts. That sensor, tells me the pump has been "asked" to come on. (Not necessarily it DID come on -- amps tell that)

That provides an on/off. What it doesn't do -- is tell me the amp draw during the run of the pump. An unusually high amp draw is indicative of a well issue (well dry, pump failing, etc).

Also, an amp draw while the pump isn't supposed to be running, is also a pump failing indicator.

So it's not only the on/off that I'm after -- there's more nuance. I kept it in describing it to on/off.

Maybe edit your OP to include this info. Glad things worked out.
