From what I can tell it only lets you set codes remotely. If you don't need that then you probably don't need the wifi module.
The Wifi bridge is only useful if you want to integrate the lock with Google/Alexa directly or use the app for remote access control. @april.brandt also mentioned the configuring of key codes as well.
There is a API coming soon but with Z-Wave there's no need for a Wifi API.
The idea is a all purpose "smart lock" that interoperates with everybody in many ways. BT, Wifi, Z-Wave and someday likely Zigbee.
Thanks for the update!!!
I ordered a DB2.. Should be here next week for me to play with.
You remembered to order the zwave module for it right?
Yup I did...... Thanks
For anyone else interested in getting an Alfred lock. Please contact me as I can provide you with a discount code.
The lock works good and is very nice. I paired with a couple of my Systems and it works with both just fine.
Any discount on the WiFi bridge if I wanted to try one just to have it.
Thanks.
Discount can be used for any Alfred product and order. Ideally you'd want to use it when buying a lock to save the most.
I just messaged you about this. Not sure if the codes are still good, but I'll give them a shot. Planning on picking up 2 of these locks for the new house!
Wish I read this before I bought it. Anyway I did just purchased the DB2 Bluetooth and zwave module. It is a great looking lock and I had no issues with pairing it with Hubitat, but I'm having a hard time with the lock manager. But I haven't spend much time trying to figure out why it failing when I try to add the user codes. My bigger problem is I'm having issues pairing Bluetooth.
tried three different phones and tablets. I contacted support they had me do a factory reset and they are working on sending me a replacement one. I agree you do need to add a door sensor and have Hubitat lock the door automatically.
I really don't think you'll use the bluetooth as much as you think. LCM - you need the latest zwave firmware module for it to work with lcm. I'm not at home to check mine. If you do a get codes, then it will pull up the default code that you set. If it does not pull in your codes, then you may have the old firmware. Alfred will send you an updated module if that's the case. Then set up your codes in lcm from there. The nice thing about LCM is that you can assign locks to users, so one user code can be assigned to different locks without creating a separate entry for each lock you have in your home. If you need more help, post a new thread on it. There are lots of people in the community using it and you'll get your answers. Also, depending on your hub, you will want to have zwave devices that support beaming. It's a must in order to keep your locks communicating.
