Monitoring my Network and the Attached Systems

I am looking closely at Zabbix to monitor the network, the attached systems, applications and the Internet connections. Besides HE, I have HA, InfluxDB and Grafana.
Zabbix can monitor the network, devices and applications. It does self discovery based on device or application knowledge. 6a57cc88f3c6a8ed9d8a
wrote this template for scanning Hubitat. There are similar things for HA, InfluxDB and Grafana. There is an interface to write the Zabbix log to InfluxDB. This way one can have all logs in InfluxDB and ready for Grafana.
Has anyone started down this road? Any experience to share?
How does Zabbix compare with Nagios?

I played around with Zabbix briefly, but found it way overpowered and over-complicated for my needs. It allowed me to expand my logging to include my router's logs, but the return wasn't worth the time investment for me. I keep an eye on things using a combination of Uptime Kuma and Node Red.
