I have a couple of questions that I am looking to get answered. I am seeing conflicting information as to how MIRA works.
I have recently installed it, and it allows me to use a bunch of old WYZE Sense V1 sensors in Machine Rule routines in Hubitat using Hubitat's virtual switches that Alexa can control through Smartthings.
I have seen multiple sources state that Mira can allow Hubitat devices to be seen in Smartthings. I can verify that this is true because that has been set up flawlessly.
Now for the question. Multiple other sources claim that MIRA can also send smartthings devices back to Hubitat. I have not gotten this to work, nor show any menuing that would enable it.
So what I am looking for is some final clarity from the expert users here.
If indeed this is true, would I be better served by using HubiThings Replica, or is there an even better application?
Finally, should I remove MIRA if I do install another program?
From the post here: The device creation is only one way (real devices in SmartThings aren’t reflected back in Hubitat) but control and updates are bidirectional.
Maybe what people mean is you can create virtual devices on Hubitat, mirror those over to ST with Mira, then create rules on the ST side to duplicate the behavior of a real ST device (when real device turns on or off, turn the virtual on or off), so in effect you're pushing a ST device state back to HE.
I was fairly certain about the 1 way vs 2 way activity of MIRA. Just do a google search asking that question and you will be told it goes both ways.
I have set up Hubithings Replica now, and it is working fine for me. This saved me having to spend $150 on a new Lutron Caseta Pro hub. By using Replica, I now can control all of my Caseta switches in Hubitat.
No more clunky virtual switches and contacts.
Thanks to everyone who contributed. It is appreciated.
