Min/Max of a group of sensors

Trying to use the Min and Max values of a group of sensors in Rule Machine.

Search got me to this thread: Averaging - #112 by bravenel

Installed the App wrote by @bravenel, Min/Max values are properly calculated and shown in the App itself but their is no Min or Max value in the corresponding child devices.

What did I do wrong?

How can I get the values from the App to the child devices?

Or how can I use the values from the App, in Rule Machine?

I've been using WebCoRE for all my min/max/avg calculations because it offers those (and more) as built-in math functions, along with arbitrarily complex expressions. The result can be assigned to a Hub Variable (or your receiving virtual sensor), then used in (or to Trigger) RM.

Definitely run into the roadblock you've encountered, of wanting to pull info from an App (as opposed to a Device Attribute, which is straightforward in RM), and concluded that it's not easily done, if even possible.

Thanks for your input. I'm trying to centralize everything I can in Hubitat. I'll take a look at webCoRE but hope someone will chime in with another solution.

WebCoRE is a built-in app, you just have to "Add" it to your Hubitat hub. Bit of a learning curve there, but I think you will quickly discover the climb is worthwhile.

In this app you can assign the Max value into a variable which can be used in Rule Machine. Displays Min in app but cant be assigned to a variable at this time.

Pretty cool app!!! I installed it and will sure find a use for it.

However, it doesn’t seem to do what I want. I have 9 temperature sensors around the house and want to use the differential between the hotter room and colder room in a rule.

I also didn’t find how to link the variables in the app to the Hub variables. I will keep looking for a bit and then post in your thread.

I’m not sure if that is the reason but I rebooted my hub and the app from my first post now works perfectly.

I use this for min / max / avg for temp and humidity sensors.
