Hey all. Some of you helped me with my issues with my C5 earlier today. It seems like it's given up the ghost so I purchased a C8. I've seen a lot of posts about people having issues migrating to new hubs. This is my first time. I only have a couple dozen devices and only a few routines and no real dashboard (I have plans to improve on that!!!). I also have a Philips hue interface. And I only have z wave devices.
For those who have migrated, should I try to copy over my data or would it be better/easier to just start over?
TIA
Well, you are going to have to re-pair the devices to the C-8 (put C-8 in exclude mode, exclude, then put in include mode, include).
Then, load up one of your backups from the C-5, go through each rule and automation, select appropriate device that you just paired.

I think it is worth trying to migrate. Most users don't seem to have issues. Worst case, migration doesn't work, but that isn't any different than if you decided to start over again. One thing that I think is a common problem is you should shut down the hub after a migration, it must clear the radio or something and seems to cure most of the buggy initial behavior some see after migrating.
I would definitely take a local backup before migrating, you would be able to keep any rules or apps just in case something went terribly wrong, which it probably won't.
Be sure to read and follow the documentation exactly. How to Migrate to a New Hub | Hubitat Documentation

Normally, yes, but the OP indicated that his C-5 has "given up the ghost."
It's dead, Jim.

I think their C5 is working, but not working right. C5 stopped working well
I think it is working enough to do a migration.

That's correct. It's still on, and I can access it, and I've tried every reset/reboot there is....it just doesn't do anything any more. So I SHOULD be able to do the full migration procedure. Thanks for the advice.
