I did a quick search and did not find to many recent posts on recommended outlet options. I have a few older singled outlets that work pretty well, but I am looking to add around 6-10 more. A few will be all year devices, but 5-6 will be for Christmas lights.
For the ones that will be year round the Zen04 is nice and has a 800LR version. Govee also has a outlet that supports matter and can be had pretty cheaply though they can't be stacked in a duplex outlet
For outdoor Christmas lights, I've had excellent luck with Kasa wifi plugs. I can unplug them at the end of the season and doesn't mess with the zwave mesh.
I have not added WIFI based devices into my Hubitat ecosystem. Can Hubitat control these devices easily? I want to add them to my existing dashboards and rules.
And also there is a built in integration for the local control of the Kasa devices. If you get newer models that support Matter you can pair them directly to the hub as matter devices (not sure if Matter supports power metering yet).
MOST Wifi devices are not this straightforward and I would avoid but there are a few exceptions that have great local control support.
I use all GE / Jasco. Both wired in outlets and plug-in devices. They have all worked well for 5 years now. I have a few of them at window outlets and outside outlets, for controlling holiday lighting.
When is Matter support for power readings going to be available? I've got the Kasa Matter outlets KP125M and they work great but I'm still waiting for power readings in Hubitat Elevation.
They worked ok with the Kasa Integration but I lost power readings when I switched them to Matter. The Kasa app gets power readings but not Hubitat. Do I need to change the device setting from Generic Matter Outlet?
