I have an app that uses motion sensors to turn our walk in closet lights on and off. It works great except sometimes my wife will go into the closet where she has a chair and she sits fiddling with things or sometimes just talking on the phone. Sometimes she doesn't move enough to trigger the two motion sensors in the closet and the lights go out. Looking for a sensor that would still detect her even if she isn't moving much.
I use the Linptech version of this sensor. Moes is the same sensor rebranded. I use it for the similar issues you have and it works extremely well. It will still detect motion but you can set both the motion and static detection. The static is what pics up the minute movements that keeps the lights on.
Linptech are very good except they are tend to lock up every 6-8 weeks (there is a related thread for this problem). The only way to get them back is to recycle a power. Some people are OK doing this but in my case this is no go. So I replaced my 4 Linptech sensors with Meross MS600.
Knock on wood to this point I have not had the issue where they had to be cycled. I have had one in service since April and one in service for the last two months. Neither freezes. They could start tomorrow but to this point I have not had the issue.
Good for you! Unfortunately many people who are using Linptech sensors are facing this problem. Just in case, which driver are you using and what is a platform version?
May be you have a magic combination?
My hub is on platform 2.3.9.200 and I am just using the Linptech native driver. Linptech Human Presence Sensor. Nothing special I guess I am just really lucky to this point but I will take it.
Have you checked this forum for information?
You'd think there'd be an "electric eye", similar to a garage's, that could monitor the closet threshold.
Or, how about elevator doors? Seems you can stick any appendage in the field and the door opens.
These type of old school sensors seem unrepresented in Hubitat world.
