Looking for a new smartlock to replace my Schlage BE469

Well one of my Schlage Camelot BE469 Z-wave locks finally “gave up the ghost” and I am looking for a replacement. I have 3 of those and have had relatively good service aside from connectivity issues and stubborn pairing. I like the security of Schlage locks but I’d like to explore something different. I also have a quikset smartlock (Zigbee) lock and connectivity has been good on it but it’s a real pain to press the numbers on the keypad as they are very slow to register. I’m an Apple Watch user so that lock feature looks interesting on some but I don’t want a WiFi lock. Key features that I am looking for is… long battery life, secure locking mechanism, ZWave or zigbee, solid connectivity and easy to use keypad (with no fingerprints). Anybody have replacement recommendations?

I have five Kwikset Home Connect 620 z-wave+ deadbolts. No issues whatever with them.

Four of them have in service for 18 months. The fifth for 6 months.

Few other recent threads with lots of lock discussion. Might be helpful to you.

I am in the process of replacing my current kwikset 620 with the new Zwave LR supporting version of kwikset 620. Should have the 1st one tomorrow. If it works well I'll replace my other 2.

I am using the Yale deadbolt without a traditional key. On my second one. The first was a yale nest lock using thread and a wifi gateway. Used it for 5 flawless years until Nest killed their secure product. Replaced it with a Yale 256 z-wave with touchpad. Been on there a year without issue. Yale does have keyed versions. Both Schlage and Kwikset do not offer a keyless lock.

I highly recommend the Level Locks. They work great with Apple products (geofencing, Apple Watch tap) and also with their own RFID tags. The keypad is a separate product. I have it off to the side as I only use it if everything else fails. It turns out I have never really needed it and at the moment the batteries are dead. I should fix that.

The only downside I've seen is that I use rechargeable batteries so they don't last as long. I just replace them every four months or so when I think about it. It is very easy to change them so it isn't a hassle in any way.

I got lucky and picked up two more on special for $130 each. I would have eventually added those two but wasn't going to pass up that deal.

They aren't one of the Z radios but I have them connected through HomeKit. They have been very reliable and responsive.

Same problem as you, I just picked a new jfe109 from https://zensupply.com/

They re-keyed the new For Free to the same key as the previous Schlage. This is a Significant hassle saver with rest of family.

Kwikset 620 Zwave LR versions works great under zwave js. I didn't try it on my hubitat hub, but no reason to think it shouldn't work there.
