Local backup failed, Leap Year?

Have we got a Feb 29th bug here?
Local database backup failed at 2024-02-29 02:30:49.155 PST

Just did a manual backup and it create a small .htm file:
"backup file not found"

@gopher.ny

Unlikely. Unless it is specific to 2024. I had no issues with backups in 2020.

I'm on C8 .122 so maybe the new beta release?
I just tried again, no go. I can't do a backup locally.

What browser are you using? Recent changes in Chrome make it so you must choose to keep the insecure download (.lzf), when prompted. Not doing so will leave you with the .htm file you see.

No issues here. Iā€™m running 2.3.8.120.

I just rebooted and same things so maybe I'll look at Chrome.
All was fine until today, didn't get a Chrome update that I saw yesterday.
Thanks for the heads up.

Cleared cache etc.
I don't even get a choice to save the file. Chrome just says Done and leaves me with an error file.

Tried all the settings in Chrome, nada.
Doesn't work in Edge either now.
Hmmm

Reboot Windows, always the answer for 25 years.
Nope.
Can't download from HE.
I can download from WAN sites fine.

I'm sorry it doesn't help you, but I just did successful manual backups using both Chrome and Vivaldi running .122 also. Hopefully, Victor will come along soon with a solution for you.

I just did a WebCore piston backup fine.
Maybe I'll be rolling back to .120 and see.

Nope .120 doesn't work now.

What the @#^% has Windows done!
Neither Edge nor Chrome will download the backup.
Trying FireFox next

I'm on 2.3.8.122 [C-5] and mine worked perfectly fine...

Can you PM me the hub id? I'll check the engineering logs on the hub.
If something fails, it should give a proper error description...

Ended up doing a soft reset as even a Macbook Pro in Safari couldn't do a backup.
I can back up again

Having this issue on Win 11 with latest Vivaldi Browser doing a manual backup, works with Firefox. Running 2.3.8.123 on a C-4.

Backup runs for a few seconds with Vivaldi then ends, does not create a file in downloads folder.

BTW: last time this worked was with 2.3.8.119

Update: Just tried it with Chrome, backup ran but received a disappearing error message that read something like "insecure backup blocked", creating this file in the download folder
Unconfirmed 243883.crdownload (dt/time filetype) 1777KB

Mine works again after all ther trouble but I now have to tell Windows to "Keep" the suspicious file.

This appears to be a Chrome based browser issue that I now have working with Vivaldi and Chrome as follows:

  1. In Url bar enter vivaldi://flags or chrome://flags
  2. in "search flags" field, enter insecure
  3. Enable "Insecure origins treated as secure" then
  4. Enter http://your hub's ip address
  5. Click "Relaunch"

Now I'm happy!
I tried chrome://flags with the recommended alterations from Google but the flag they suggested didn't help; this one does.

Cheers!
