Life 360 stopped changing presence status in hubitat

Unfortunately refreshing every 5 mins isn't an option for us. Don't want my wife sitting outside the garage for 5 mins before it opens, or having HSM freak out that the garage was opened by her manually before it disarmed.

If re-authing doesn't work, going to switch to native Hubitat app presence.

So yea, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling life360 and it still will not update presence, same as all the reports above.
The Hubitat app presence seems to work great on Android, but on my wife's iPhone it doesn't update as fast as life360 did. She has to open the Hubitat app and send a geo event manually.
@bobbyD can you guys take a look at the life360 integration since it's an official app?

The app is working on our end, the problem is on the Life 360 side. The only thing we can do is to remove the app because of the reliability issues it has been having lately.

@g.shepperd - what HE firmware are you on? Since the 2.3.6.134 update's fix, the native L360 app has been working well for me and my wife.

@bobbyD hopefully it doesn't come to that!

Yea still doesn't work after updating. Not sure what the problem is since it seems to be working for some.
Going to try presence with homekit and see how that works

I moved over to homekit a few days ago. been working for me

Been struggling with it for a few weeks now. Hadn't seen this thread. Did put in a request to L360 to see if they've got a ticket open to resolve. Haven't received response yet. Will post if I get any info from them.

Unfortunately I don't think you will get the response you are hoping for if you get one at all. The integration is reverse engineering not an official API.

Set up Homekit presence on my wife's iphone 15 and it seems to be working great so far.
Hubitat app presence still working great on my Android, as well.

Here's the response I received from Life 360. Not really clear, but looks like they're trying to say they no longer support any Smart Home Automation and have no plans to reimplement. Maybe Hubitat can reach out & confirm (and remove the connector if L360 truly intends to not continue.)

I bet if you setup refresh on the connector device every 5 mins, it may work for you.

I hope they don't, at least without far more concrete info than this. The native L360 integration is working well in our household.

Another response received from L360.

Thanks for your efforts in contacting Life360 and getting a definitive answer. :+1:

Hopefully you won't mind if this is quoted on existing threads and the new ones about this issue that will continue to be raised.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this is a new position from L360... AFAIK, L360 doesn't (and hasn't ever) officially supported any home automation integration (HE or otherwise), so the varipus integrations that do exist are all basically jerry-rigged (for lack of a better term).

While L360 is working good for our house at the moment, it seems like the writing is on the wall here... Is the behind-the-scenes stuff L360 has been doing lately that's been screwing with our integrations intentional to scrape we barnacles off, or just an unfortunate side effect of unrelated changes? Who knows, but it all smacks of this integration getting more-&-more janky to keep afloat.

In that sense, this is all starting to look a lot like MyQ... Although I haven't done any HomeKit stuff yet, I think that's the direction I'll switch us to this fall for presence sensing.

This is kinda where my heads at too. It really sucks cause it was so flawless for so long. We use it for my wife and I plus the kids. I suppose we could just go with the native HE app location and stop doing it for the kids.

For now though it works for us still.

I guess Life360 is now completely incompatible with hubitat.

Shame, I found this quite useful.

useless AI responses.

I'm late to the party but I have a few additional details. To be honest I think my issue was more related to IP Address vs Life 360 as I never got that going too well with Android. Anyways. I started having issues about 5-7 days ago with my lights not coming on when I got back home, they likely went off due to timers connected to motion sensors. I went to update package manager and saw an error, 103 I believe. I then updated from 2.3.7 to 2.3.8 and both issues were gone, my lights work with my phone, based on it's assigned IP Address, being on the network and I was able to update package manager. So, maybe just updating the hub is a good start.
