Let's talk 3D printers!

I will forward you a copy of the forms to be completed, along with a date for your ROI review. Oh, and please put a cover sheet on the required TPS reports. If you could try to remember to do that from now on, that would be great.

I just set asked for forgiveness for all 3 of mine.

Don’t forget to use the new cover sheet, you got the memo, right?

Just started printing with Sunlu grey PLA+ and it does print fairly well with a nice satin like finish and not much stringing but needs a bit hotter temp than eSun. Has anyone used their white filament and can give a comparison with grey? I've generally found white harder to print and wanted some feedback (if any) before I make my next order.

@dJOS please don't put CAD screen shots, I was looking at your Turbinator and all of a sudden, I clicked the middle mouse button to rotate the view, then thought to my self "hey stupid, this is a screenshot". I think I might need to change jobs soon

Nice design BTW!

I’ve found Sunlu PLA to be one of the most consistent across colours. Eg I can switch from white to black and back again without any changes.

Thanks mate, it was a fun design.

Thanks mate! FYI their ebay store (oz) will do 4 for the price of 3 and allows mixing (although the free one(s) will default to the cheaper filament). So actually comes out cheaper than their Aliexpress store I think.

Nice, I’ll try that option for my next order.

I think I mentioned previously that I started out with an Ender 3-V2 and no matter what I did, I always had some sort of issue with it.

Bought a Sovol SV06 late last year.
After more tinkering with the Ender 3-V2, I tossed in the towel.

Now I have Junior and Senior SV06 printers.

The Ender is in the basement and will be reverted back to stock.

Bit quiet around here…

I got another design into the Fan Showdown. :sunglasses:

I started dabbling into modelling a bit more. I've made a few one off things. Recently posted these two.

I made this case for a combo of an ESP32 S2 Mini and an LD2410C mmWave radar.

My wife bought a Jura Z10 coffee machine. I wanted to add a float valve to keep the tank filled but didn't want to drill into the stock tank lid. So I mocked up a replacement lid with a hole for the valve to pass through.

They're no Turbinator though...

Nice work mate, the coffee machine lid with float valve is a great idea!

Thanks man. That one is a gem and has won me some big WAF points. It's the little things I suppose.

Well, while we're at it.

Here's a box I printed for a major LED project I recently finished up. Ran 48' of LED strips, so I needed a beefy power supply and repeaters for power injection. Add in the LED controller itself and it was a mess.

I had to split the box in half to fit my print bed and opted to use jigsaw puzzle style joints. The PSU has its own fan triggered by a temp probe and relay, but I wanted to make sure everything else stayed cool. The rid lid panel has mounting for an extra 120mm fan on the bottom and the hex mesh on the top is for the PSU fan intake. The left side is just open ventilation for the moving air or have somewhere to go.

Same project. I had a main line with a bunch of t-taps to feed the cabinet rows next to it. The line is tucked into a corner that you can't see but still wanted to cover the connectors. So I mocked up these clamshell styled covers.

Again, same project. I had a few holes I needed to drill to pass cables through that left some blowout. So I modeled up a parametric grommet that I reused throughout the project.

Lastly, not in the modelling vein, but still. My wife picked me up a second printer for Dad's day, but got me the AMS combo. I opted to not get the AMS with the first one as they were having issues with parts breaking. This one has a redesign so that's not an issue anymore. I'll be picking one up for my other printer before long.
