Kwikset 620 Lock issues (Z-wave). Device added, not working

Trying to add a new Kwikset 620 lock to my C8 hub. Read through the forums first, saw that you needed hub to be close and to use S2 security. Moved my hub to within a few inches of the lock and used S2 security. Lock added fine, but now my logs are going CRAZY. It never stops searching for user codes... if I send a lock command it'll lock, but sometimes it takes 15 or 20 minutes to do so.

I've tried 10 times now, I tried without security and it still added as a device but nothing happened after that. The device always recognizes itself as a "Generic Z-Wave Lock". When I click "Configure" sometimes I see the command in the log, sometimes I do not, but I do not notice anything different. For reference, my last attempt to add was about 10 minutes ago, device added, and the logs are still scrolling a mile a minute with the:

debug
fetchLockCode- 4
trace
trying to fetch code: 4
debug
no changes to codeNumber:3, code:, codeMap:[:]

Log on different attempt:

I have five of these locks. I had them on a C-8, and now they're on a C-8 Pro. The lock has to be paired with S2 security. Never had an issue with any of them, so your lock also should work. I have a few questions:

  1. How many Z-Wave devices do you have paired?
  2. How many of these are Z-Wave Repeaters?
  3. Any Z-Wave ghosts or stranded devices?
  4. Can you post a screen shot of the lock's device data. For comparison, here's the device data from one of my locks:
  1. How many Z-Wave devices do you have paired?
I have about 50 other Z-wave devices paired and working. A combination of switches, buttons, controllers, modules, sensors, etc. I did have 4 Kwikset locks, but they are an older model that were not Z-wave plus and did not include S2. When I switched from Homeseer to Hubitat none would connect, so I figured I needed S2. Bought one (the 620) to replace one of the four and test it.
  2. How many of these are Z-Wave Repeaters?
No specific repeaters, but I do have the hub mesh enabled on some of them that are fixed (not battery and do not sleep)
  3. Any Z-Wave ghosts or stranded devices?
    None.
  4. Can you post a screen shot of the lock's device data. For comparison, here's the device data from one of my locks:
I excluded the lock - it was so active it ate through the 4 batteries that came with it in just a few hours, and it bottled up my Hubitat so other devices were running slower. I can re-add it tomorrow if that is needed to troubleshoot.

Hub mesh has nothing to do with Z-Wave or Zigbee mesh networks. Please post screenshots of your z-wave settings page.

Since you checked the forum, you probably found that Kwikset 620 pairing issues are posted about twice a year. My experience is old (2022 using a C7 hub), but ultimately required using SmartStart.

This page?

Thank you!

Yeah i've seen the SmartStart, will attempt that tonight as well. thank you.

Just to clarify, I have no problem adding the device. It adds fine with security. It's after being added that it starts to freak out. We'll still try the SmartStart though.

Yes. That page. Please post the entire page. It might take multiple screenshots.
