Two possibilities. In order of most likely. TP-Link (Kasa and Tapo devices) has created a block-out from third party services (Amazon, etc) unless selected by the user. At the same time, they are transition some (not all) Kasa legacy devices to the Smart security and protocol (for your device, most likely not).
The steps to try - in order:
- Go to the Kasa or Tapo Phone App and your settings.
- Kasa app: tap Me, then Settings, and look for Third-Party Compatibility to toggle it on
- Tapoapp: go to Me > Tapo Lab > Third-Party Compatibility and turn it on
- (The me on new version is the person icon in the upper left corner.)
- Try the built-in Integration again.
- If that does not work, the community Tapo Integration should work. It will require credentials; however, all communications are local.
