Without posting the charts, yet anyway, let me just say the fan makes a big difference, even now in summer, in both basement and upstairs. It’s been cool the past several days though, and the windows are closed. Plugged it back in.
Not sure what you are hinting at here:
Fan will mix the air and change the concentration in a specific area if it is collecting in one particular area. However, if your windows are closed, it is just moving the air inside and not removing the total quantity (which would be the better thing)
The radon fan.
Holly guac !!! What a high point to start with !!!
Good job on mitigating that !
I turned off the fan to see how high it would get.
It got pretty high. ![]()
How long did you breathe that in ‘till you added the fan ?
The fan was there forever and running, ie, since move-in day. It's a Fantech, and has been great to me.
I thought I'd see if I could get away with cycling it, or whatever, I was thinking.
Now, I have 3 cool radon detectors tied into HE via HADB, and my fan is on full time.
Could've gotten away with 1, lol.
We bought the house and did one if those carbon trays/send to lab tests. Came back to a little over 4Pci/L. 2 years pass, my daughter was born and while walking around the neighborhood with her in the stroller, i noticed several houses near me, with radon mitigation.
I though to myself i can’t be at 4 and these people to have more to require mitigation. So i got me the radoneye.
Yeah… good thing. I was actually at 12 …
2 days later, whole crawlspace mitigation done.
Dropped to 0.1 …
9 years ago … fan has been on ever since (with the occasional power outage as a breather). Even have it wired to the generator for when we are out of electricity
