INNR Smart Plug 15A Model SP234 Zigbee - Need driver

I recently purchased the INNR Smart Plug 15A Model SP234 for Zigbee. This is the one that includes power monitoring. I paired it to HE without issue. I used the new by brand method and it found INNR smart plug, but assigned the device type as "device". I selected Generic Zigbee Outlet. The Data field shows:

  • endpointId: 01
  • application: 28
  • softwareBuild: 2.8
  • inClusters: 0000,0003,0004,0005,0006,0702,0B04,0B05,1000,FC57,FC82
  • outClusters: 0003,000A,0019
  • model: SP 234
  • firmwareMT: 1166-0313-28016610
  • manufacturer: innr

As you can see, it properly identified the manufacturer and model. Unfortunately it does not seem to allow me to do anything with it. The device page On/Off does not work neither do any of the settings for power monitoring/reporting.

I tried to add it to my Zigbee Outlet dashboard and this is what I got (device name: Smart Plug, device type: Outlet)
smart plug tile

I turned on logging and it shows the on/off commands are being sent:
dev:14602021-10-25 10:52:05.267 am debugon()

dev:14602021-10-25 10:52:04.526 am debugoff()

dev:14602021-10-25 10:51:16.640 am debugon()

I really want to get this working. Is there a solution to get this device working with HE?

Did you click Configure on the device page after selecting the new driver?

Yes. See logs:

dev:14602021-10-25 11:01:07.363 am warndebug logging is: true

dev:14602021-10-25 11:00:43.762 am warnconfigure...

I don't know what else I should have seen in the logs though.

I did note that the compatibility list only shows the SP222 UK version as compatible, but took a chance that this would work with the Generic driver. Guess maybe I was overly optimistic.

Innr Zigbee outlet - UK version SP222 Outlet / Plug Zigbee Generic Zigbee Outlet

can you post a screen shot of the driver data section again?
looking for the entry labeled powerCluster...

  • endpointId: 01
  • application: 28
  • softwareBuild: 2.8
  • inClusters: 0000,0003,0004,0005,0006,0702,0B04,0B05,1000,FC57,FC82
  • outClusters: 0003,000A,0019
  • model: SP 234
  • powerCluster: none
  • firmwareMT: 1166-0313-28016610
  • manufacturer: innr

I'm not sure what this device is doing, after the configuration testing is complete the device should list either 0B04 or 0702 in the powerCluster attribute, since it says none the driver thinks it isn't capable of reporting power.
So the device isn't responding (or the hub isn't receiving) readAttribute requests for cluster 0x0B04 attribute 0x050B or cluster 0x0702 attribute 0x0400, these are the normal cluster/attribute pairs used for power reporting.

Without having the device in hand, and perhaps sniffing the frames I don't really have a way of fixing this.

I see these are on Amazon now, I ordered one...

I just picked up a couple of these as well, and was trying to use them for monitoring a washing machine cycle. The power reporting actually worked for a little while using the "Generic Zigbee Outlet" device, and the laundry reporting app functioned fine. However as of this morning, that is no longer the case, and it is not reporting energy usage anymore. No idea what changed.

Here's what it's reporting...

  • endpointId: 01
  • application: 28
  • softwareBuild: 2.8
  • inClusters: 0000,0003,0004,0005,0006,0702,0B04,0B05,1000,FC57,FC82
  • outClusters: 0003,000A,0019
  • model: SP 234
  • powerCluster: 0B04
  • manufacturer: innr

And now it's working again... Once again, no idea...

DST affecting scheduled jobs?

No, DST doesn't factor into the way this setup works... The problem is that it seems that sometimes the power info is reporting, and sometimes it isn't... More testing required.

It appears that the power monitoring function works for a little while, then stops functioning.

2.3.0 will have an update for the generic outlet for this device, i did not notice a stoppage in reporting when using the updated driver.

Thanks. I replaced the Innr outlet with this Jasco product, and everything works great now.

Mike, did you ever get the INNR Smart Plug you ordered? Did you ever figure out how to get it to work?

2 posts up...

Thanks. I have no idea how I missed that.

I just purchased the SP234 US version. It paired quickly with the hub. The on-off functionality is working, but I am not getting power reporting.

I am using the Generic Zigbee Switch driver. The details for the device show power cluster 0B04, so it should be reporting power usage.

I have a C7 hub operating with the latest version of the hub software 2.3.12.142. The software build for my Innr plug shows as 28016610 and firmware as 116-0313-2801661.

Do any of you who have fought similar issues have any suggestions I can try? Thanks.

Try "Generic Zigbee Outlet" - based on @mike.maxwell's post.

Click Configure after changing drivers.

Thank you so much.

I changed from the generic switch to the generic outlet and power started reporting.

I should have figured that out on my own, but must have experienced a "senior moment". That seems to happen more and more frequently these days.
