[INCIDENT] ZOOZ Double Plug (MODEL ZEN25)

Except.. In the example posted both are running firmware 2.0 but one is showing hardwareVersion 1 and the other is showing 2

Is there a trick to get these added to a C7? I own a few, they work fine with my HA install with a Zst10, but I'd prefer them on my hubitat.

Just include like normal, when it asks about security press SKIP to include with no security. They are supposed to be less problematic that way.

We provide the 2.0 firmware to users just like any other OTA file so if you have a 1.0 version printed on the plug, it most likely came with 1.0 firmware and was later updated to 2.0 via an OTA file (unless there's a printing error I'm not aware of).

Yeah it's normal and the plug shouldn't report these small changes unless it's specifically programmed this way so I'm not sure why you're seeing this. Are you seeing the same behavior on multiple units in multiple locations?

I only have one to test with. I will try moving it and leaving it with nothing plugged in to eliminate any variables. Otherwise other users would have to confirm if they are seeing this. I think my screenshot I posted above account for all the available parameter settings and they are adjusted to high limits.

@agnes.zooz I tested with nothing connected to it, just sitting idle, and the reporting was normal. Then tested it with floor lamp that has LED bulb and it was reporting voltages all day long. This is just the most recent stuff, it did this all day long (I forgot to check on it).

I have some I can send you if you would like to test multiple. PM me your address.
While I would like to use them I can’t. As soon as I include them in my C7 my mesh starts to crash within hours. Running firmware 2.0 and all reporting turned off or extended to 24 hours where off wasn't an option.

Whenever I go try and do a z-wave inclusion it just never finds a device. Other zwave devices, including some of the other zooz zen15's work fine.

What do you notice crash wise? I own several z25's, I wasn't going to add them to my mesh until I needed them though.

Within a few hours the mrsh starts to slow and become unresponsive. Never had that problem on C4 hub, just the C7.

I'll play with it a bit more, I only use my C7 for Z-wave and mostly stick with HA.

My mesh is fairly small, 12 z-wave devices, I've got a few more I could add in.

FYI, I eventually figured out that if I set the Voltage reporting to 2 Hours the report spamming stops. If it is set to 6 hours however it reports it for every little change as I reported above. Anyone with reporting enabled, I would recommend setting the Voltage reporting to 2 hours or less due to this issue.

I also have two ZEN25 now to test with. The second has been paired and sitting idle for around 24hrs now and no mesh issues. Trying it with the stock Hubitat driver for this one and set most of the reporting to 1hr. Need to figure out something to plug into it to test it under load.

So its been a little bit and the extra ZEN25 is still sitting idle. I have noticed a few mornings now where one or two devices are locked up and the mesh seems to be having issues. Once all the devices reconnect and are in use again for the day it is fine. Not sure if this is related to the ZEN25 or not yet.

@agnes.zooz I plugged in a load to the new test device which seems to fluctuate in wattage. Looks like every wattage change it spams all the metrics for no reason. This is just the main metrics, it is probably reporting both endpoints also but I have logging for those turned off. All the reporting times are set to 2 hours, wattage is 5W. I would think this would just report watts when it changes for power monitoring? Makes this devices pretty useless for power reporting.

I thought I had the voltage spamming figured out but it continues. I have now shut reporting off on the one I used and unplugged the other one.

And on and on and on.....

It's definitely not normal behavior and we couldn't replicate it with the plug included without security so please get in touch with our support team to get the plug serviced.

If you disable all reports, does it still cause problems? I have a C-7 on the way and would like to use it for all my ZWAVE. I have all reporting disable on my ZEN25s on my C5 because I just never saw the need for it.

Glad to see I wasn't going crazy!!

I had / Have 3 of them . 2 are sitting on a shelf and @jtp10181 has the other for testing purposes. (that's the one he's showing above), but all of them do this with a C7. They all crashed my network within hours of including them. I am watching this closely as I really want to be able to use these. But because of the crashing I can't use them without risking loosing a lot of WAF. I had no issues at all with them on my old C4. this is a problem unique to the C7's.

You could just put them back on the C4 and use hub mesh...
