Zigbee works fine, no Zwave will connect to the hub. I am going to try to install my old hubitat hub to see if zwave still works with it but could i have a bad hub?
Assuming Z-WAVE is Enabled and is set to a correct frequency, first thing to try - is to swap antennas (they are interchangeable). Maybe this is a problem.
It is enabled and set to correct frequency. It is upsetting. My old Hubitat hub was turnkey. On this one I bought two zwave locks, no go, now my aeotech quads, no go. I think there is something wrong with the new hub. This stuff worked all day long with the hub with no external antenna.
How are you powering your hub?
You have excluded the devices first, right?
with a usb wall plug in adapter.
Yes. I have worked with a previous Hubitat hub. Everything connected to that one no problem. This one i think is defective the Zwave does not work with anything I try and yes it is enabled. I will hook up the old hub tomorrow.
One other option is to swap antennae in case one of them is bad.
The one that came with the hub? Asking because Z-Wave has been known to be picky without consistent power as some other sources might not provide.
Please confirm if you're using the USB plug that came with the hub. If not then remove what you're using and plug in with the one that came with the hub. Test and see if that resolves your problems.
If not, do below. It may help identify if you have a bad antenna.
Shut down, pull power, swap antennas and plug back in again. Test to see if that helps with your problems.
I am using the power that came with the hub. I did everything you said. When I went to exclude it said "excuded unknown Zwave device." After that nothing. This only happened after I swapped antenna's. No way I should be having this kind of trouble pairing a device on the hub. Zigbee pairs right away. Zwave multiple devices does not work. I am convinced I have a bad hub. I will contact support this hub is only a couple of months old.
I am using the power that came with the hub.
Just for fun try a different usb power supply .. any 2amp usb power brick
LOTS of people have found this helps ..
I just made a warranty claim. No way i should not be able to connect any zwave device to a new hub. I have spent hours on this thing. Zigbee works fine, zwave worked fine with my older Hubitat hub. I hope they honor the warranty. I bought this on Amazon.
No doubt we honor the warranty. And thanks for submitting the case for review. We will certainly screen your hub's engineering log for possible faulty radio, however, if the hub is able to exclude an unknown device, chances are that it isn't a hardware issue. Are there any Z-Wave working at the moment? If so, do you mind sharing a screenshot of your Z-Wave Details table? If you don't want to share publicly, you can send me a private message.
I also paid one year in advance for the protection subscription. I will post a screenshot later today and I will also send a pm.
I have not been able to get one zwave device to work on this new hub and I have spent hours trying to exclude, repair the zwave network, hard reboot, nothing. zigbee works no problem. My old hubitat hub zwave worked no problem. No doubt there is something wrong with this hub.
Also please post your z-wave details page in its entirety. (Use windows snip)
okay later today
Please check your email. While we were unable to conclusively determine that your hub is dealing with a hardware malfunction, based on the symptoms you've described and after reviewing your engineering logs, we agree that something is wrong with your hub, so we are sending you a replacement.
Greatly appreciate it. Now the big question; how do i transfer all my config with the backup to the new hub once I get it without transferring potentially corrupt Zwav data?
