I am Done

Thanks for sharing your feelings about your home automation experience. It is very unfortunate that you've become so disappointed with your smart home.

Based on your previous community activity, your Hubitat Elevation journey started in the summer of 2021. You were then very appreciative of this community when you started:

A year later, when you ran into a router-related issue, the community once again helped you work through the connectivity problem:

I understand that you are using Hubitat as part of what you consider your “security system,” and I’m sure you’re aware that expecting any always-on device to run 24/7 for more than three years without interruption or maintenance is not realistic.

This applies not just to smart home hubs, but also to routers, NAS devices, cameras, and other consumer electronics that rely on storage, radios, and constant network activity.

That said, it’s also completely valid to decide that you no longer want to invest the time required to maintain a more advanced or customizable system.

Hubitat Elevation —and platforms like it— do require some level of ongoing care, whether that’s occasional reboots, firmware updates, device maintenance, or hardware replacement over time.

For some users, that tradeoff is worth it; for others, it eventually isn’t.

If your needs or expectations have changed, that doesn’t invalidate the positive experience you had for several years, nor does it reflect a failure on your part. It simply means your priorities are different now.

If you’d like help stabilizing your current setup, understanding migration options, or deciding what makes the most sense going forward, the community and support team are still here to help.

And if you decide to move on, we genuinely appreciate the time you spent with Hubitat and the contributions you made along the way.

Either way, thank you for being part of the community.
