Hub refuses to connect

I have looked at similar posts but cannot find the solution. The light on the c7 is green. I can find the hub by the mac address at findmyhub but I get "This site can’t be reached 192...* refused to connect." I don't use a proxy and my browser has permission for the firewall. Any ideas? I wrote support yesterday but have not heard back. The hub runs my security system.

don't use https, use http instead and see if you can connect (make sure the browser isn't automatically inserting https)

What firewall are you using? Have you tried turning the firewall off to see if you can connect (that would confirm that either port 80 or 443 was getting blocked locally or something else was being blocked by the firewall)

Thank you but I tried both of those ideas already.

What are you running for your firewall? What are you running for your router and/or switch that hubitat is plugged into?

windows firewall. tp link archer 8.

I'm going to assume that your pc and the hub are both plugged into the archer directly? Are you running a vpn on your PC to connect somewhere? Have you tried a different browser? Heck, have you tried your phone app? (trying to eliminate things here)

You are correct. Both plugged into the archer directly. Same story with my phone and Edge and Brave browsers. They both can find the hub using the mac address but can't connect.

Did this just happen out of the blue? As you can use findmyhub I assume you can ping the hub? If so it's possible that it's crashed.

Happened out of the blue. When i ping ..*.105 which is what findmyhub says is the ip, command prompt gets a reply from 115 instead of 105 and "destination host is unreachable" but no packets are lost. I have no clue what this may indicate if anything.

Sounds like the IP address of the hub has changed. I assume your computer is a windows PC and on 115 which is why you're getting this message.

I would reboot the router (NOT the HE) - unplug and leave for at least 30s and try again.

Also clear the cache on your browser just to be sure.

Have you tried accessing the Diagnostic Tool?

Thank you everyone. Had to reset the router. Reboot did not work. All is well. The gang on the hubitat community is great. Again, thanks a ton!!
