Hub Protect Extended Warranty - Out of Warranty Device Add

I was looking though the information that I could find on Hub Protect and I have a question about the extended warranty.

Does the "extended warranty" apply if you hub is already out of the normal warranty period? Example: If I bought my C-8 2 years ago and now add the Hub Protect subscription, is it now covered by the "extended warranty?"

Yes, with one caveat: Hub Protect must be activated before the hub is dead.
