So for some reason my hub doesn't action any of the rules that were working before hand. Seems to of been like this for ages I've just not had time or the want to try and fix it! Any ideas?
Hub still turns items on and off via alexa and google

Without logs, it is difficult to say what is going on. If you haven't changed anything, then I suggest rebooting.
Yup, without any details, it’s impossible to help.
Which apps do you use for automations? Which ones aren’t running correctly?
How long is “for ages”?
As @aaiyar said, show some logs as a specific example and someone can likely help from there.
Having a little look at the logs and it seems like the z wave items have stopped logging! Just walked past the front room sensor and it wasn't logged. This must be why things have stopped working.
I'm rebooting now, its a shame it cant detect that its failed and reboot itself.
If there are loggable errors to explain whatever’s going on with your hub, then it might be possible to receive notifications to prevent the problem from growing again in the future.
Sadly its not displaying any errors.
So i'm also unable to unlock my front door (yale lock) and my siren is also not working either.
Neither can be used from the devices tab in HE
Sounds like they've dropped off the mesh, if the device page doesn't control them. Maybe just try to reconnect them. If they are battery powered, maybe also check that the batteries are ok.
All mains powered.
Gone to do a z wave repair on the mesh, normally starts and takes a while to repair however it literally starts and finishes the second I click it. Any ideas?
Which model hub are you using? One thing you might want to try is to go into the Settings menu, and click Shutdown. Wait until the hub is completely down (red LED, I believe), and then unplug power from it for about 10 seconds. Then plug it back in. This will make sure that both the Zigbee and Z-Wave radios are also restarted.
Its the C5 Hub i believe.
Ok so oddly that has fixed the problem shutting it completely down and unplugging the power.
Any idea what may cause this type of freezing with the hub?
I think the z-wave radio may have shut down or entered a state where removing/restoring power fixed it.
Sounds to me like the Z-Wave radio got hung up. One thing to consider... how warm/hot of an area is the hub located in? For example, placing on top of another heat-producing device might lead the hub to overheat. Just an idea. I have a small, quiet cooling fan that I use to keep my Cable Modem, Router, Vonage interface, Hubitat Hub, and Lutron SmartBridge all nice and cool all year long.
Yeah its in a comms cupboard which does get warm but not really warm. Might try leaving the door open slightly!
If you decide to try @ogiewon's cooling solution (quiet fan), I find these fans to be really good (and they're USB powered):

That is exactly the fan I use! Very quiet and reliable. I also use a pair in a push/pull orientation on top of my Denon Receiver, to help keep it cool inside the entertainment center cabinet.
Report it to support, I've had this issue on and off for months now, done zniffing, removed all my non plus devices. Notably during a z-wave lock while sniffing can see the stick sending acknowledgments but the hub isn't process/receiving. Happens for me around every 10 days, it must be something to do with the data transfer via the micro USB connector.
Same here..the exact fans I use to keep my 'Data Closet' cool. Recently got this blower as well to eject hot air through the crack near the top of the door.

Turning the hub upside down can help a bit as well, the vent holes are on the bottom.
@aaiyar brill didnt know these were a thing will get one ordered
@mark.cockcroft Its not worth the hassle support are over run and dont get back to you. I'm sure i had an outstanding issue that wasnt resolved from around 6 months ago.
I know but the more duplicate reports hopefully the more interest or differing data to compare.
Mine has been like this for months, love the hub but these random z-wave lock ups (virtual and zigbee work fine) drivesme crazy.
Edit mine on a shelf clear space all round
