If we can tempt you back to the CSS group, you might be interested in a "driver" I created to make some of the basics a little easier...
I haven't updated it in a long time, but would love to get back to it. It currently includes the ability to copy the adjustments made to one tile across multiple tiles, which I would love to expand to the point of doing the same across multiple dashboards and even the ability for people to share their creations for others to use.
ESIT - I'll just add that I don't see this as some alternative to something like Tile Builder, Gary does some awesome work and has spent a lot more time perfecting his creation, so I would definitely check it out
