How-to guide to give 2nd user mobile access to hub dashboard

I have these capabilities which I want to bestow upon my wife and/or children:

• Use the hubitat mobile app
• To access the hubitat server for our premisis
• To set view status and click/swipe/whatever on dashboard(s) controls the same way I do

Mainly they need to set the status from 'Away' such that when they enter the premises our alarms don't go off.

She has already downloaded the hubitat app, and created a userid and password (and I'm going to gently add that she was not impressed with that experience)

Looking at How to Manage Accounts Linked to Your Hub | Hubitat Documentation, it looks out of date because when I am on item 3, Create Account, there is no option to sign up as is shown in the document.

The create account screen was pre-loaded with the login credentials I used to access my.hubitat.com, and there is no button indicating 'sign up' which is in the document. Since she already has a hubitat id, shouldn't this be the place where we can enter it?

Please point me in the right direction!

Thanks for your feedback, and sorry for the confusion. A few thoughts about your inquiries.

You can send her a link to a dashboard only with the tiles she wants to use. Then she can save a bookmark on her home page to access it when needed without even downloading and installing the app.

I agree that the process could be burdensome to some users. The app doesn't require an additional user to function. You don't really need a guest account on your hub. Many people use the same account to log in from all mobile devices.

That is a feature of your browser to preload previous logins. If you don't want to go through the trouble of adding a guest to your hub, you don't have to. Just use your credentials to log into the Mobile App on her phone.

If her account is set up, you need to jump to step 7 (log out of her account). Then follow the section to add a guest to your hub. But again, this is only needed if you don't want to share the credentials for your account with her.

Adding a user to the mobile app

Hi, I am trying to set my wife up as a second user to the hub and give her access to the mobile app. I downloaded the account, went to the portal and I can see her credentials top left. I can see the hub on the lan but nothing under "my hubs" How do I link her account to the hub? thanks

Thanks for getting back to me - been offsite for a spell and found it easiest for now to use my credentials in her mobile app. Once we're back onsite we'll figure out the guest account approach you pointed out.

Thanks for getting back to me. Giving her a link worked while we're onsite, but once we were offsite it doesn't work. So I used my credentials to log into her hubitat app and we're good for now.
