Hi, I'm wanting to use this controller for lighting and blinds. Can anyone please help, if it's possible to easily, within the board, interlock 2 relay channels for the blinds control, so that both channels would never be active at any time? Thanks
Can you describe in more detail how this thing works?
It sounds like you have some type of multi-relay controller that can wire to light fixtures and motors for window blinds?
How does the manufacturer intend for users to interact with the device?
Does it use z-wave or zigbee? Apple HomeKit? WiFi or Ethernet to connect to an IP network with a proprietary mobile app for control? Other?
Tell us more about it and we can tell you if it should work with Hubitat or not.
Thanks for your prompt reply.
The pretension is to use the HHC-N818OP, an 8 channel din rail relay programmable module, about which I've seen mentions here. I don't have the unit yet, it's just that I would prefer to have that extra security (channel interlocking) on the blinds channels. Actually, intended control would, for now, to mainly use direct button command.
Are you sure you’ve seen it mentioned in this forum?
A search for that device model # only brings up this thread, no priors.
I found this post via Google, but no clue how useful it may be.
Are those 1s and 0s or Is and Os in the model #?
I appologise - the references I found related with this module were on another forum, sorry!
the reference that you may find on the net is HHC-N818OP (no zero on the #). I had the link to it's site but unable to place it here.
Welcome to the community!
You need to go to Hub owners - Hubitat , join the group and then you'll be able to post links.
Edit: Here's a LINK to a bunch of words that might be relevant, or not.
Hi and thanks for the support. I took a look at what was related to the link and it's about this product. As usual, only with the "thing" in our hands will we be able to see how it really behaves. If, with little effort, you can still give some input as to how Hubitat can be a positive "influence" I appreciate. Thanks
So you need two relays that interlock for each blind, and you are looking at an 8 channel so I assume you want to run 4 blinds from it?
I think that type of interlocking, in pairs for each blind, is going to be hard to find. I would just use individual two channel zigbee boards that have locking.
Something like these work well and have interlocks. I use the four channel one on a three speed motor, with interlocking so two speeds can never be on at the same time.
They come in two channel, like this one.
They do make 8 channel Zigbee boards, like this one, but you would be limited for your requirement for interlocking pairs, assuming that is what you are looking for, as you could only lock individual relays out of the eight.
It depends what kind of interface the device has for control by an external system.
Based on the thread that @hydro311 linked to, it looks like it has a TCP/IP interface.
Is there a documented API that includes webhooks/http calls? Hubitat can pretty easily interact with the device if it does.
Hi guys. Just gone to "hub owners" to join but my 2 only neurons are trying to find out how to do it, (as it seems, required to post links to provide you with further info). Maybe after a good sleep I'll be able to figure it out.
In the mean time, it seems you are focused on zigbee/zwave tech, devices that aren't exactly my favorit habitat (I've been using mobile phones for too long, prefer cabled tech to wireless). Still fell I can be usefull, eventually due to 25 years of AV/media system integration?
Should be pretty simple, make sure once you register your new Hubitat HE hub you're logged in with the same credentials.
Edit: Looks you're sorted.
Hi, regarding the module that brought me here and the questions you asked, here's the link to it:
http://ardudevelop.eu/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/HHC-N8I8OP-документация.pdf
I suppose that this info may answer your questions, from my side, I'd like to understand if an interface can exist for the client to easily use it (Hubitat interface?).
Thanks
Hi, following on this issue, let me try another direction:
- I need a controller (hub?) with 8 to 12 inputs (contact closure) and 8 to 12 outputs (230v), that you already know compatible with the Hubitat interface.
- din rail mountable
- ideally, would be several units, somehow descriminated on the interface
Any sugestions (or am I totally displaced?). Thanks
