I'm fairly new to Hubitat and hoping someone can help me get my GLEDOPTO controllers working properly before I give up on them!
I'm installing CCT LED lighting on 10 individual shelves. My setup is:
Hubitat Elevation C-8 Pro
10 x GLEDOPTO GL-C-203P Zigbee 3.0 Pro+ controllers
24V CCT COB LED strip
3-wire CCT strip (+24V / warm white / cool white)
One controller per shelf
Each shelf needs independent on/off, dimming and colour-temperature control
The GL-C-203Ps pair with Hubitat, but I'm having problems getting brightness and colour temperature to work correctly and independently.
For example, changing brightness has also affected the colour temperature, and at other times commands from the Hubitat dashboard haven't produced the expected change at the controller/strip.
I've tried different Hubitat drivers and controller modes, but I'm now getting a little lost as to what combination I should actually be using.
Ideally, I really want to get these controllers working rather than replace them. I've already bought 10 of them, and if other people are successfully using the GL-C-203P with Hubitat for CCT strips, I'd really appreciate knowing:
Which mode is your GL-C-203P set to?
Which Hubitat driver are you using?
Does Set Color Temperature work correctly?
Can you change brightness without altering the selected colour temperature?
Are they reliable once configured?
Is there anything specific I need to do after changing the driver, such as Configure/reset/re-pair?
Ultimately this system needs to be reliable and simple to use once I've finished setting it up.
If the GL-C-203P genuinely isn't a good option with Hubitat, I'm open to replacing them, but I need something reasonably priced. With 10 controllers, £50–£60 per controller isn't realistic for this project.
I'd therefore particularly like to hear from anyone actually using a GL-C-203P for a 3-wire CCT/WW+CW strip directly with Hubitat.
I have several GL-C-201P controllers on 24V RGB-CCT light strips, so not exactly the same setup as you. But in case it helps, I use the built-in “Advanced Zigbee RGBW Bulb“ driver and have had no issues.
Thanks, Sebastian. I actually tried the built-in Advanced Zigbee RGBW Bulb driver with my GL-C-203P, as that was the driver it initially paired with.
Unfortunately, I was getting some odd behaviour with it. Colour temperature would change correctly, but changing brightness sometimes also affected the colour temperature, so the two controls didn’t seem to be behaving independently.
I then tried Generic Zigbee CT Bulb (dev). With that driver, on/off and colour temperature worked properly across roughly 2700K–6500K, but dimming still wasn’t right — for example, setting the level to 50% didn’t reliably change the actual brightness.
The GL-C-203P is set up in CCT mode with a 24V 3-wire CCT strip.
Since your GL-C-201P works properly with the Advanced Zigbee RGBW Bulb driver, do you know whether there’s any particular mode, setting, or configuration step on the controller that I might be missing?
I’d really like to get these working, as I already have 10 of the GL-C-203Ps.
I didn’t need to change any settings - they all just worked when connected. I did experiment with a bunch of other drivers too, but it was the only one that really worked.
Don't Hubitat themselves actually help customers? The people that actually paid them to use their products.
I didn't think it was going to be this complicated for what I thought was a simple task. Hubitat seems to be the Linux of the smart home systems. I don't want to be doing this many hours of research getting things to work.
We (community members) typically help each other with issues and when we find / confirm something that needs staff support, we will either ping them to see if they can help or sometimes they will follow threads and provide support as needed. This works for most cases.
Have you seen this new driver that another community member just created? I wonder if it might resolve your issue…?
