I'm on C-8 Pro. I have a ghost zwave device (Smoke detector). I only have Refresh and discover button. How can I remove it ? I tried both buttons but no change.
Does the ghost device exist? It's been awhile since I dealt with this but it might help if the device it was linked to is on, then shutting it off before refreshing might give you the remove button.
I believe if a device responds to the refresh then it won't give you the remove. If no device responds then I think it might. Not 100% sure but I believe that is the case.
No and yes ! I had to force remove. I then paired it again. It is now on the network but with a different node id.
Unless it is a device that I tried to pair, got Zwave device found and jammed there so I have to reset the device and restart and I now get this ghost.

Thank you for fot that info. I started reading it but after clicking few times (slowly) on refresh I saw that ALL my smoke detectors devices don't get the remove button even if I click on Refresh. That's strange.
Not really that strange, you would think its easy to remove them but its not, thats why there is a gigantic guide on how to do it.
Battery device ghosts might be even more problematic.
Did you try on both the ZIP gateway and ZWave JS?
No, I'm always afraid to return to zip !
DIfferent subject: I have problem with my Zwave network that's why I'm looking at this ghost. I decided to copy the log to CHATGPT and WOW it knows exactly which devices is causing me problem. this is not the one. I unpaired this device and the traffic make more sense now. So I think I will have fun during the weekend.
There is currently an issue with force removing sleepy battery devices on Zwave JS, so you are stuck with it for now then.

I finally decided to try Zip and you were right I was able to remove 2 ghost that I had. It is now clean so I can return to JS.
