Garage doors - idea for devices?

Hello,
I have a plan to automaize my garage doors.

I want to make my garage doors close automaticaly, but not when someone is inside.

I plan to have the Presence Sensor (Aquara or other brand)

I need Zigbee button which connects two wires to control the open/close function of the doors. Any idea what button it can be? There is no power/electricity in the buttons. It’s not a wall-button. This should be a button which connects two wires going out from the garage main controller, when the signal from presence sensor comes.

Hope someone has an idea bout this button/switch.

Thanks in advance
Piotr

If you do a search for garage door here, you'll find numerous threads that have good ideas. There is one particularly good one with a title such as "Alternatives to MyQ" or something like that.

What garage door opener do you have? Are you certain an open/close momentary switch is sufficient? There may be security involved that requires something different.

What are the two wires connected to if not terminals for a wall switch? Not sure what you mean by there being no electricity in the buttons. You may mean there is no circuitry in the buttons that require power. If the wires have no power at all, how would they work?

Doors are managed by this big device under ceiling.

And it can be operated from IR pilot of via switch like this:

And this switch/button. I click - doors open. Click again - doors close.
I want to change into smart one: signal from Presence Sensor make it click.

English is not my native language so probably i explained in bad words electricity issue
Hope pictures helped.

Understood. It appears that the button acts just like an old wall button with no security involved. If that is so, any device that gives you momentary open or close should work.

A Zooz ZEN16 is what I use, but I have more than one applications for a relay. There are many choices - Shelly, Aqara, Tuya, Sonoff ... I will leave it to others to recommend their favorite.

Thank you @HAL9000 for your replay.
Im not sure if we understand each other. Probably due to my poor english :frowning: sorry about that
All switches I find of that brands are 230V powered where on electrical diagram you must source S1/S2 by L wire and of course there is N wire, SO fully operate in 230V.
This is not what I need. When i Connect like this i’ll smoke my device

I need MOMENTARY SWITCH which only stick two small wires together (closes the circuit) after signal from other smart Zigbee device.

Any idea on this @HAL9000
Or anybody?

Thanks in advance
Piotr

Like those but smart

The guide linked to below is for a using a Shelly Wi-Fi device on a garage door opener, not ZigBee but the basic principles are explained very well.

I've found this one - can work as non-power.
Brand TUYA - will this @TUYA device work with HE C-8? Anybody knows?

AC power is disconnected from momentary switch:

Or any other device which works fine with HE and is non-powered.

Thanks

Wow. Awesome!
You helped me a lot.
Thank you! Now I understand the topic completely

Check this thread :

and this Youtube video:

Perfect! Thanks!

I'm reading that some purchased devices/models didn't work in C-8,
I've found this on Aliexpress:
https://pl.aliexpress.com/item/1005005257227550.html
Any idea if this model will work?

And regarding automation for this fixed/kable contact sensor:
Is it possible to do "if sensor/door closed" do this and this? This Tuya device shows the status of this sensor or I should buy different one for automation?

I'd like to automate it with Presence sensor FP1E from Aquara. HE C-8 integrates this device correctly?
In one of your posts you wrote that for better usage it needs the Hub E1. Still true (it was years behind) or it works alone with C-8?

Thanks for your support

Your English is fine but you just need to read some of the garage door opener threads in this forum, and an internet search for "zigbee momentary contact relay". This is one of the first that my search found

Amazon.com: MHCOZY 1 Channel 5V 12V ZigBee Smart Relay Switch,Adjustable Selflock and Momentary Working Mode,Works with Tuya eWelink Zigbee Gateway : Tools & Home Improvement

Here is the ZEN16 I mentioned which is Z-Wave+ and has three relays

Zooz ZEN16 MultiRelay – ZOOZ

Even though you are making momentary contact with the wires from the garage door opener, the relay itself needs power.

If you have problems pairing some Zigbee 3.0 devices to your C-8 hub, use this workaround . It works 100% for me and others.

It is impossible to tell from a picture or AliExpress/Amazon seller web page. I would say - there is a very high probability it will work with the custom driver.

Yes, see the screenshots of HE dashboard - what is available in the Dashboard is also available for automation.

Aqara FP1E works very well with Hubitat.

Tuya garage opener arrived and Works fine
The only issue: is it pssible to reverse in the driver the status of the contact sensor?
When touched - open
When detatched - closed?

It’s super important for my automatinos with presence sensor.

Thanks in advance for support
