So I tried playing around with Button Controller again after I did a soft reset and rolled back to a previous version before all this.
The same thing happened again. Same errors with button controller but more importantly, my device stopped responding again. A shutdown and unplug did not fix the problem. So it looks like I'm going to have to exclude and reinclude once again.
Since my original question has already been answered on this thread and I don't want to go off topic, I created a new one in the appropriate sub to troubleshoot.
