Feedback: 2.4.0 UI Overhaul

Apple, but it is a bit buggy and won’t stay on screen - I had to hold the menu up to take the screen shot. Not really an issue for me, as I can’t recall ever logging out.

We'll be the judge of that. :slightly_smiling_face:

These changes will take a little time to get used to and you sort of have to look around and see both what is no longer in the UI and what has been added to the UI. My rule is click on everything at least once.

Sounds like you were on a dark desert highway...

There's no logout button in either Safari or Chrome on MacOS, and Safari on iOS.

I think we've found a bug

Good that means I'm not crazy... ;

It is there, but a bit wonky, even on iOS, it springs back below the address bar, making it impossible to use.

You can collapse one of the other sections to get the menu shorter. But it's not showing up at all for me. This is Safari on iOS 18.2. No logout at all.

I can't scroll up on Android to make it visible

Interesting, If I collapse either of those sections, there is no logout option. But with them expanded, the earlier behaviour happens.

I don't see the logout option either way, on either my iPhone or my Mac.

I just checked Safari and Edge on my M4 Pro Mac Mini, and it's definitely there:

Safari:

Edge:

Maybe you need to clear the cache on your browsers?

I was starting to wonder about not seeing many updates recently. Cheeky tinkers were doing this, well done. I just have to get used to the new UI now!

do you have password security on? I don't see it in mine (firefox)

On MacOS there is - it's really hard to see and will get hidden behind the URL tool tip if you hover over any menu item but it is there.

I really hope they change the color and/or make it larger. Maybe a "logout" button instead of plain text?

And critically when opening a bunch of devices at once, control-click on the little arrow still opens in a new tab behind the current tab, keeping focus on the current tab.

Only should have a logout if you are using hub security.

If you are not logged in, you cannot be logged out. You have to enable the local hub password protection, aka "Hub Login Security" in Settings.

For those who are now discovering the "Hub Login Security" please BE AWARE that the log in credentials are different than Hubitat Account used for mobile app and my.hubitat.com. The credentials are saved locally and cannot be retrieved by Hubitat staff. If you lock yourself out of your hub's user interface, check out this post: I locked myself out of the web interface - :clapper: Get Started / Tips - Hubitat

I can reproduce in Safari, this is to be fixed (in some way) in the next build.

The disable device/app toggles dominate (visually) the screen. I’d make them a bit smaller and a bit less dark.

I like the new UI. One oddity that I have discovered is the Device Name. If there is a unique character ( know it is " ' " like " 's), for example, Bob's phone, the panel may display blank (nothing). If you do a pop-out, you can change the setting. However, the Device Name may still be greyed out if you don't have a Device label. Once you enter a device label, you change the Device Name. It's not a big deal, but it's something I could work around once I knew what was happening.

I have hub login security enabled and I can't logout.

I even tested disabling login security and re-enabling security without success. No logout button.
