So what happens to the previous device references? are they automagically blanked out when imported from a foreign HE?

Personally for a larger file I like to use Github Gist, its made for on the fly code sharing like that without having to understand how to use Github itself. Also makes it easier for people to get a copy instead of having to try and select it within the post and copy/paste.

When you do an import it offers device substitutions you can make. One issue is that for user drivers, you'd have to have that driver installed to make a substitution. If you don't have a device with the right name and driver, it will create a virtual device with the driver. That obviously won't work, but would allow the app to be installed. Then you could make changes in the app...
