Ecowitt Issues

I've had an EcoWitt WittBoy set up for about two years and it was running fine. Picked up my entire network and moved to a new place and now the EcoWitt Gateway is not working. I deleted it and started over -- it won't even create the Child instances. The weather station app works fine and is gathering data, just not passing it onto HE. I use it on a dahboard.

Did you change the IP address of the hub in the Ecowitt App, under the DIY Upload Servers? I assume your hub IP changed.

Thanks for the fast response. All IPs remained the same on the internal network. Everything remained the same WiFi name. That is what is throwing me.

I would also check if the IP of the Gateway changed somehow, and that the proper IP is in the Ecowitt Device under preference. It looks like the hub is not getting the data. Just making sure you put that IP back in after you deleted it.

What about your external (ISP) IP address? Did you update your DIY Upload Servers? Did you check the online server (e.g. Wunderground) to ensure the ID and Key are correct?

Have you checked the HE logs to see if the data is arriving at the HE hub but not being picked by a device? Also try turning on debug / trace logging on any HE device you have setup for the Gateway, just to see what is happening.

Also, could it be the EcoWitt gateway is connecting over a different connection now? I.e. Ethernet vs Wi-Fi?

Also, which Ecowitt drivers are you using? There are multiple community drivers that integrate their gateways and sensors so there could be differences there as well.

Thanks for the suggestion. Verified both are correct.

Have you tried any of the troubleshooting I suggested?

I agree, debug logs are added for a reason, yet we have not seen a single log posted here yet, in a post that is asking for debugging help. Seeing some logs would go a long way for people here who are trying to help.

But equally... No pressure... I'm not about to call out people for their timeliness... :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, no pressure, just pointing out that until we see some logs, there isn't much more we can help with. Totally up to @Pegasus and how soon they want to try and resolve this, we are not going anywhere.

All: Since asking the question, I have been dealing with localized flooding, the normal hassles of a move, and a spouse who insists other things are a priority until the move is finished.

I am extremely grateful to all who took a moment to respond with suggestions. I will respond to each as I get time to try them.

Thanks again.

My ISP shifted to Starlink, but the weather app (I am using OpenWeather Map) and the WittBoy app are both working correctly. The HW hub and the WittBoy device are on the same WiFi network.

Take your time @Pegasus , sounds like you a few more important things to deal with. Hope the flooding subsides and you can complete the move soon.

Okay. That is a clue. What about the port used by each of the two apps? That may be an issue also.

There are no entries in the HE logs. All the server info, etc is verified and correct. The sensor is functioning and the WS app is working fine, The hub is connected via WiFi, but HE is connected ethernet. I could connect the hub vie ethernet as well if that would fix this.

Have you tried turning on trace logs on the HE device for the gateway?

Can you ping the gateway from the Hubitat Network Test page in Settings?
