Ecobee Smart Thermostat Alerts

Can the C8 be configured to interface into and monitor a Ecobee Smart Thermostat in the invent the ecobee disabled AC unit from one of the ecobee door sensors, (say when a door is opened) that the C8 could send out an alert text and/email?

I do understand that Ecobee can do this, but it requires a monthly fee, and it is limited.

I rather use the C8 so I can have rules to manage the alerts and who gets them and when.

I expect it could be done. Have you looked into the user-created app Ecobee Suite? It uses Ecobee's cloud platform to expose LOTS of additional data to the user.

The default notification on Hubitat requires the Hubitat app to be installed on the recipient's phone, but there are apps available for sending SMS and email, I believe.

Thanks to Home Assistant I am using 100% local Ecobee Thermostat integration. I don't have Ecobee door sensors but all extra temp sensors are exposed. So, door sensors also could be exposed.
