Its a good solution, not to burst your bubble, but there are driver tools out there that can simplify this for you. They can clear the associations also. Now that you have figured out the secret for the advanced command though, that may actually be easier to set them.

The second post has a brief guide on how to do it. Its a very rough port of a tool from Smart Things but it gets the job done.
This one has a more polished interface, but it does not do multichannel though. Will work for most cases though unless you need to associate with a multi-channel device and a specific endpoint.
